A plumping Matthew Broderick braved the frigid Manhattan weather yesterday to shovel the sidewalk in front of his apartment. 
The "Producers," which has grossed $1 billion worldwide, will be closing in New York on April 22 after nearly 2,500 performances. Broderick's salary was rumored to be in the $100,000 a week range.
Couldn't he pay someone to shovel?

1. He could probably afford to buy a whole company of shovelers but why not do it himself? It will give him some exercise and fresh (questionable) air. I like him and his wife. They don't seem pretentious.

4. The fact that he IS shoveling his own snow is totally refreshing. I saw good for him. That just shows me he's a down to earth guy.

5. Good for him! Why not shovel the snow? Why pay someone to do it? It's not like it's a huge area and his kid will learn that it's important to do tasks around the house. Plus, I agree with #1, he'll get some exercise. I don't think he's any more plump than before. He's just wearing a sweatshirt, which always adds pounds, since they're inherently bulky.

11. good for him wish we saw more stars handling more of their own chores. Seems quite self centered that someone must be hired to do everything for them. Matthew doesn't think he's too good for the world, very commendable. Unlike some other princesses who pay extra to reserve entire wings of rehabs, cause they are too good to mingle with other people, or have to hire people to hold and care for their children.

With all the money he and his ugly, no talent wife make (made), they could afford to shovel the city of N.Y. ...Big deal ..looks like he needs the excercise anyway with his weight! $100,000 a week. 14. Guess since his "ass istance" quit and wrote an award winning movie, he was not there to clean the snow up. His wife could have helped! She sure can't act, so she might as well do something for the family.
