Gay Slur Gets "Grey's" Goof an Image Award

Isaiah WashingtonIsaiah Washington won an acting award this weekend, and no, it wasn't for his half-assed apology for using the "f-word."

The loose-lipped "Grey's Anatomy" doc, who recently left gay-slur rehab, took home Best Actor in a Television Drama at the 38th Annual NAACP Image Awards. What an image, indeed!

With Isaiah receiving this questionable honor, perhaps there's hope that Michael Richards will get a GLAAD Award ... but don't count on it.

1. At Least Isaiah was sorry, apologized saught treatment. Ann Coulture did not. Said she was joking. She is the true biggot. This is not Democrat vs Rebublican, this is a racial slur. Big difference

2. Looks like the NAACP is taking care of their own. Too bad they can't save his career.

3. At Least Isaiah was sorry, apologized and saught treatment. Anna Coulture call John Ewards a F and said it was a joke. This is not democratic nor rebublican issue. This is a seriuos racial slur. Isaiah was nearly fired-- Ann Coulter merely laughed.

4. He got the award because he deserved it. He is a fantastic and talented actor. I am sure if we went down the list of folks receiving Oscars we would come across much more blatant homophobes and racists than Washington. Get over it...

5. Isnt that nice? *eyeroll* Yep taking care of their own. Whoever gave him that award should be ashamed. There are alot of fine black actors who deserve it more than him.

7. Isaiah was sorry apologized and got help. Ann Coulter gave a public speech using the same word and said she was joking. Isaiah nearly lost his job. Ann Laughs. Where is the justice?

8. Way to go NAACP, you have done more for the stagnation of a Race moving forward than any other Organization out there. You;re leaders are satisfied with the status quo as it keeps them employed...imagine if the Advancement of Colored People wasnt needed, than there would be no need for the NAACP leaders. So keeping things the way they are (terrible) works just fine for your leadership.

Uh, nice selection by the way on the award...what is it, a way to payback for Eddie Murphy not winning?

9. THANKS BABYDOLL,:)

10. First of all ... the award wasn't an image award for his personal life... It was for the character he plays...lets get it straight!!!

and if we are taking care of our own...why not...Eddie Murphy deserved that Oscar and gave it to some guy out of left field who was even shocked he got it himself!!

11. He got the reward for his outstanding performance this past year on Grey Anatomy. If we took into account all of the personal issues of actors, rap stars, etc. then there would be no award show. Black, White, Asian, or otherwise.

12. I cannot believe one would go to 'rehab' for saying a bad word..geesh..apologize and get over it already. Yes it was wrong but is this poor guy gonna go down in Hollywood history as the actor who called another co-worker a bad name???
TMZ doesnt do much to help him overcome it either..

13. Look at the head on this humanoid. Surely Charles Darwin would recognize it as a representative of another species.

14. Isaiah has expressed sincere, deep regret and sought counseling for his bias. He even hired a gay agent. Forgiveness and restoration are great concepts. As a gay and African-American dude, I applaud Washington.
