22. Having to deal with the Paps is enough. Cut him some slack. His life is documented. I think any guy in his situation would want to protect his girlfriend from being photographed. Its sick that they are photographed all the time. Who cares if she's a woman, she's still violating his rights of freedom. What happend to the equality of men and women. Maybe the pap broad looked like a man.
Also, this is only in the media because the woman who got hit wants money. She probably went home and beat herself just to show that Joel's (well deserved) wack had some impact. Shame!! Get a life woman!!!
I say go Joel. He's only defending his woman's honor!

24. In all honesty, who can blame him? It's not like he punched the woman. And people who get up in another person's space, invading their privacy should be on guard and ready for some rough treatment.

As a woman, I can say this: some women just deserve to be hit. As do some men. But its never a big issue when women hit men, even though we can be a hell of a lot more vicious than men.

I don't care for Nicole Richie, nor for the other party, but seriously, if you're going to force yourself onto someone just to get a pointless photograph, getting pushed, shoved and potentially roughed up should be in the job description. Just leave the people alone. Because regardless of their status, thats what they are:

27. I am totally shocked at what I am reading... I'm glad she got pushed. If she even did. Sounds more like someone trying to cash in. There is a thing called personal space. Famous people and not-so-famous people are entitled to their space. Joel was defending his personal space, plain and simple. These photogs are getting run over, shoved and their cameras broken for a reason....they are violating personal space. Maybe all the actresses and actors should start suing every time they get stepped on or shoved into their cars by the herds of photogs.

29. I dont agree with him shoving a woman out of the way...but that is all he did. If you look at the clip TMZ posted either yesterday, or the other day, he does not push this woman hard enough to leave a mark. I think if anyone should be complaining it should be the guy he shoved...which was hard enough to leave a mark. The woman he just pretty much moved out of the way. For everyone who says the stars know what they are getting into with the press... you are right... but who says that the paparazzi has any right to be in someone's face when they are walking out of a restaurant. I think there should be rules for both...the paparazzi egg the stars on to get them in these situations... and the stars allow them.
