Lane Garrison Faces the Judge

3/8/2007 7:10 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

"Prison Break" star Lane Garrison just went front and center in a Beverly Hills court on charges of vehicular manslaughter, but the actor neither copped to the charges nor said the charges were bogus -- Garrison did not enter a plea.

Judge Elden Fox pushed the formal arraignment to April 11.

Garrison faces one felony charge of vehicular manslaughter, along with three other charges stemming from a tragic Beverly Hills car crash last December that left one of his three teenage passengers dead.

If convicted, Garrison faces six years in prison.

The D.A. had asked that Garrison be released on $200,000 bail, but that amount was reduced to $100K.

Judge Fox ordered that Garrison refrain from driving a vehicle. Garrison was also told he couldn't drink alcoholic beverages and he couldn't have contact with any victims or witnesses in the case.

Moments after he left court, Garrison surrendered to authorities at the Beverly Hills Police Station, where he was fingerprinted and photographed.

The 26-year-old actor was behind the wheel when his Land Rover crashed into a tree on December 2, killing 17-year-old Vahagn Setian. He met Setian and two 15-year-old girls hours before the crash, and the teens invited the actor to a party. TMZ was the first to report that witnesses at the party saw Garrison drink between four and seven shots of Grey Goose vodka in a short period of time, and that they saw him snort cocaine at the same party.

This is a sad situation all around! MY sons father went to jail for vehicular manslaughter when he was at teenager. The only difference is the man that died, was the drunk one and it didn't help he had a brother on the police department that withheld evidencee was withheld.Makes you kinda wonder how that's posibile huh? Well, you gotta love our judical system and all the crooked lawyers that can be bought!!! Not only did he feel extreme guilt that he was involved in an accident were someone died but it screwed him financially and emotional. He was sent to jail with men that commited cold blooded murder, child molesters, gang members , ect.... My point is, prison is not where he belongs! Don't get me wrong, he needs to pay for what he has done, but he also needs help with his drug addiction and alchol abuse, not to mention theraphy for his suicidal tendencies that he WILL NOT RECIEVE IN PRISON!! I don't think he will ever get over what has happened and i think there is a better way to punish him. Prison will only teach him how to commit crimes he never thought possible!! Parents need to keep such a close eye on their teenagers, especially the young ones!!! Why were they at an adult party where there was drinking and cocaine involved, at the age of 14!!!!??? The whole situation is just heartbreaking!!

He was my favorite person on prison break and i didnt want him 2 get killed off but I guess now he has to take punishment in what he did just like on the show. I'm sure he knows he did something bad but i dont think everyone should be saying all this negative stuff even though what he did killed someone. This stuff still won't bring the kid back even though y'all say it!

i feel bad for any innocent kid who loses his life without any chance to save himself. he put his life in the hands of an adult who should have acted more responsibly with respect for those kids. very sad thing. ALMIGHTY GOD will remember the innocent one who lost their life and ressurect them back to life with a second chance to serve him. as for the driver that night, he will ultimately answer to ALMIGHTY GOD for his actions. GOD makes no mistakes, his judicial descions concerning him will be just and fair.

Vahagn was a great person whose life was taken away from him because of lane's horrific actions. We miss him every single day and it us hard to move on without him...lane should have been a responsible adult that day...if he was my friend and talented musician would still be here....punishing lane will never bring him back, but i hope he gets what he deserves...

I wasn't aware that the TMZ readers were so educated in law. Most people do not serve time for this. It has nothing to with fame.

And, for the girl that asked, he was very nice in high school. Actually, he has been a good guy our entire lives.
