106. This is not a singing competition--this is a competition to see who will be the next American Idol. That requires a certain degree of marketability, which Sundance does not seem to have a whole lot of. Simon really came down on Sanjaya once he flat ironed his hair and "revealed" he liked to hula--why? Because gay is harder to sell; just ask George Michael. This is all about making money. Just because it is called reality television does not mean it is real.

107. I was shocked Sundance was voted off!!He was a lot better than the other guy. Something is fishy! The girls are much better than the guys this year and Melinda is the best by far of them.

I happen to think Sanjaya can sing, along with the other talented performers on American Idol that remain. Yes, some are not as polished as others but they have all made it. They will all be coached and polished each week to improve themselves as performers. That's what
makes this show so great, we can watch ttheir transformations. Sanjaya may be different
from the rest, but that is what makes him stand out. He is very humble, kind, and appreciative and again his singing is understandable. He doesn't seem to be taking this all for granted. He knows he is the underdog in this competition, from most of the comments on this site, and the show, he has to know that, but maybe he will surprise all of us. He is the youngest too so my hats off to him. He is there, we certainly are not, that should say much. Good luck, Sanjaya!

109. I can't believe Sundance wasn't voted to top 12 (Sabrina, either). Sanjaya and Hayley should have gone home. Something's not right here. After last night, I won't watch American Idol anymore! There's no way those results were accurate or even correct! Even the judges were shocked and said America got it wrong. What the hell? No more idol at my house....Sundance, keep going and follow your dream. You're awesome! It's okay anyway that you didn't win the Idol title -- you are a UNIQUE person/singer and I'd sure hate for some contract to tell you what or how to sing!

110. Male hula in Hawaii is not a gay thing. It is an art and you would have to live in Hawaii to appreciate it. The guys in the male halaus are usually athletic,hunky and hot!

111. Just wanted to comment on the male contestant that is "over confident" of his chances. The instant vote on this site indicated that people think that it's Blake. I do not think that it's Blake or Chris Richardson. Every indication is that it's Chris Sligh, if you think about it, he's barely masking how full of himself he is. I could always be wrong, but I think that the other two guys are honestly humble. Up to this point , I've been one of Chris' fans, but that kind of crap is a giant turn-off for me. I also believe that one of the girls will be the idol this year.

112. There is a website named "Vote For the Worst" . Maybe that's why Sundance was kicked off and the "Transie Paula" aka Sanjay(?) was kept for another week. American Idol SUCKS this season. I quit watching last year when Chris was voted off. Taylor and what's her name???? That's when I realized that voting for the worst was winning out.........this year, however, I mean, where's the talent? I usually tune in at the end just to see what's going on. There are a couple of females who are good, but they're just Fantasia (that was another surprise - as someone commented, "she sounds like a screeching owl"........so true!!!!!!!!!!!) wannabes for the most part. My mom loves the show and I'm keeping abreast of the voting via her. I'm just so glad to have an opportunity to voice my opinion that the show totally sucks this season. Were the judges hung over, on drugs, drunk or WHAT during auditions? THIS is TALENT?????????? Damn. Makes me wish I'd tried harder with my music career.

LaKisha and Melinda will almost certainly get recording contracts. So whatever happens, they'll be fine. But they are being hotly pursued by Stephanie and Jordin.

I laughed when Simon called Melinda that name. It was so condescending; and Melinda probably knew it!

Sundance, I hope you get a job that will make you happy! I am so very sorry about your loss of a relative!

114. I was shocked that Sanjaya was voted on over Sundance. I felt Sundance had the talent to win. How can two people with voices like Sundance and Sabrina get booted off and the two people that can't sing get to stay. I'm not sure I want to watch that show any longer...stupid.

117. For you guys who are blaming Vote for the Worst: They were actually BACKING Sundance last night - NOT Sanjaya, and have been for all the votes so far. Sundance and Antonella were thier choices of "the worst" from the beginning and that is who they have been voting for, so it is NOT thier fault for his ousting.

Now that Sundance is gone, they have switched to Sanjaya.

Get your facts strait before accusing.

120. I hope that the exposure Sundance recvd on AI will bring about a lot of new opportunities. I thought he was teriffic. / On a personal note, my prayers are with his family who are mouring a family members death instead of a victory for SD. It sure puts everything in perspective.
