Jolie in Vietnam to Pickup Tot

UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie was photographed with son Maddox, 5, on their arrival at Ho Chi Minh City.

It's been reported that Jolie and companion Brad Pitt will be adopting a Vietnam-born boy to join their international brood. Their other children are Zahara, from Ethiopia, and Shiloh Nouvel, born in Namibia.

226. 214. Why does everyone keep saying adopt from your own country first. What small minded people you are. You are probably the same people who will never step out of the US and visit another part of the world. Children are children no matter where they are born or live. What makes you think that the US children should be adopted before any others? Every child that is an orphan deserves to be adopted. It doesn't matter what country they live in.

I think that Americans (and let's be honest, White Americans) need to stop taking children from other countries and supposedly giving them better lives in the U.S. Do you ever ask yourself how much American and European imperalism has played a role in keeping the third-world in the condition it is in.

If you took the time to ready studies on the problems children who were adopted by people who were not the same race or ethnicity and raised in foreign cutures, you understand why some people are confused.

But seriously, why do you NOT see people of color trying to adopt white children? Really. That's a question I'm throwing out there...Flame back, TMZers!

227. Have you noticed that Angelina is looking more and more like Michael Jackson !! She is becoming so creepy looking... whoever says she's beautiful is out of their mind - she looks exactly like her creepy brother.

228. I get so sick of hearing all the negative comments about Angelina. Is it possible that she has just finally grown up and loves having kids to bring up? And what's up with it having to be 'American' children. I'm sure no matter how many kids she adopts they'll have the best of care, after all she and Brad are wealthy. All her humanitarian work around the world gives her a unique look at the children around the world and who is suffering the most.
Give her a break!

229. Question...Is it true that Brad and Angelina conceived their child in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

I know there was alot of BUZZ about them being caught in compromissing positions on security video, and those theat owned the video declined selling it, they took the high road. This was before it was know that they were a "couple."

Please let me know, Thanks, Tim

230. rich people who want to help orphans of different color should help them in some other way (donating money or helping locals to raise orphans etc.) rather then adopting them because if you really love different cultures you'll care enough to leave them their heritage (in this case their children) and leave those children in their natural environment because roots are very important for everybody! those children already lost their parents , don't take away their country too with pulling them away and plucking them into an environment that's completely different from theirs! and how do you think a child feels when he can't identify with his (adoptive) parents not even by the color of the skin, I'm white and I can't imagine growing up with parents who are black/asian or whatever, I think it's the same for black and asian people. Being adopted is probably something that a child can accept very easily when he can recognize himself in the cultural context of his adoptive parents.

232. Thank you Boogey, thank very much.
Your points are right on the mark!

There's nothing wrong with adopting, but what is the reason behind this? I am starting to think that Angelina is suffering for "soul sickness" and she's trying to find redemption through these adoptions and traveling around the poor and needy around the world.

But there is a hypocrisy behind her actions. I didn't see it before. I see it now.

I agree with you tamy.

That has been my point. I only see White people adopting children of color from other cultures. You never see Blacks or Asians or any other non-white parents looking to adopt white children and I'm sure there are white children in need of good family, like all children.

There is something to be said for being raised in your own culture among people with same appearence and familiar enviroment.

235. I don't understand the need to adopt a child every 1-2 yrs.
Zahara's I think just turned 2 yrs old, and Shiloh isn't even 1 yrs old. So shouldn't these two young children bond with their parents before introducing another child into the family?

I like the Pitt/Jolie family, but I'm starting to question their reason(s) and their need to adopt children in such haste. It was stated that Jolie decided to adopt and processed the adoption papers soon after Shiloh was born. I would have thought a mother who just gave birth would focus on her newborn instead of trying to get another child?
I'm bothered with comments regarding Jolie's need to adopt to fill a void in her life and/or obtain redemption. I think her heart is in the right place, but I hope it doesn't impede on how she raises her children.
I certainly hope each child has quality time with their parents and are not raised majority of the time by their nannies.
I hope their new child adjusts well and is cared for in a loving, nurturing way. I say this for all the children.

236. Listen Guys!. Angelina Jolie is an angel & an American role model we all should be proud of. She is a UN ambassador who has a big heart. She loves children (including American kids) , what she has done is acceptable to me and people around the world admire her so much. So, don't be selfish and watch your language. I hope one day you will realize that you were wrong about the negative things you said to Jolie. God bless America, we need more people like Angelina Joile.

238. THEY TALKED ABOUT JESUS CHRIST TOO. SUCH FOOLISH PEOPLE. WOMEN NEED TO STOP JUDGING OTHER WOMEN AND SUPPORT THEM. IF PEOPLE HAVE SOMETHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT SOMEONE WHO DOES GOOD, IT USUALLY MEANS THEY ARE FEELING INADEQUATE. WHAT SHE IS DOING SHOULD ACTUALLY EMPOWER YOU AND MAKE YOU WANT TO DO MORE.

239. Well my comment is that why dont angelina adopt children from the US, there are plenty of deserving children here, I dont consider her a wonderful woman for adopting children from overseas, are you forgetting this so called great woman has been a mistress to married men, and broken up marriages? in my book a woman that does that is not so wonderful, she looking for world wide fame and attention, and she needs to get over herself. and her puppy dog of a husband needs to get a backbone.
