Pax Joins Jolie-Pitt Clan

Here's the first look at Angelina Jolie's newest adopted child.
Pax Thien Jolie
Angelina Jolie left an orphanage in Vietnam today with the 3-year-old boy she plans to adopt. The director of the orphanage, Nguyen Van Trung, confirmed to the AP that Vietnamese officials had approved the adoption.

The boy's birth name was Pham Quang Sang, but his adopted name is Pax Thien Jolie. Pax means "peace" in Latin, while Thien means "good" or "kind." Pax joins Maddox, 3, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 10 months. Maddox and Zahara were adopted from Cambodia and Ethiopia, respectively. Jolie gave birth to Shiloh last May in Namibia.

Jolie, with Maddox in tow, got the tot from an orphanage in the morning, then went to the Department of Justice in Ho Chi Minh City, where a ceremony was conducted in which Jolie officially adopted the child. Her partner, Brad Pitt, is not on the adoption papers and did not accompany her to Vietnam.

31. Re#17. I don't care where the child is from, however it is normally hard, stressful, expensive and time consuming to adopt outside the US also. Celebrities seem to be on a fast track with this process when there are very deserving people that are paying $30,000 plus up front and waiting in excess of a year with pictures of their supposed child being sent to them. I think they must find that extremely frustrating. I think it is wonderful that a child as a home but there is something wrong with the process.

# 22. Angelina had no idea that Zahara was going to turn out resembling a monkey. Gosh she's ugly.... and don't anyone say she that she's not s because that would be very hypocrite - she is simply ugly. That child has no clue what a smile is. Why is she always eating ???

34. I think that Ms. Jolie has a wonderful heart and a beautiful soul. I also think that someone as fortunate as she and Brad are doing a wonderfull thing by adopting these children. The world should take a lesson from them about how love has and sees no bounds. I'm also very happy that maddy has a new brother to play with. I also love the name that was chosen for him. A new name for a new beginning. She also does not seem like the type of person that would have change it to be mean. I'm sure she will make every effort to share and educate him in his cultural history. Also, I'm proud that Brad turned out to be so much more that just another Hollywood "nothing". He turned out to be Human.

37. It is very common to change a child's name after adopting. Friends of mine adopted 2 children and the kids wanted to change their names because they were starting a new life. They even picked their own names. She's the mom and she has adopted before so I'm sure she has been advised by doctors and experts regarding adoption. Let's all be happy for them! I'm so tired of everyone thinking that adopted children are not as important or loved as a biological child.

38. Why can't they adopt from their own country.. blah blah.. WHY CANT YOU!? Why don't you take that up with your fucked in the head president.

There are FAR MORE homeless and starving children in other parts of the world. That is the problem with Americans.. you only think of YOURSELVES!!!! WAKE UP

Why did she pick the cutest? Are you really that shallow?!! They all look adorable to me!

39. What's so great about her? She acts more thrilled about & more loving towards her adopted children than towards her biological child. Why isn't she home loving Shiloh instead of flying around the world adopting more? Those kids have an atheist mother who hates her father just because he rightfully suggested she get therapy, & who makes out with her own brother! How can Brad even trust her? He's a moron for dumping a decent human being for beauty. Beauty doesn't last & it's only skin-deep. She may be monetarily rich, but she's morally bankrupt.

43. I THINK WHAT SHE'S DOING IS GREAT. SHE'S SAVING ANOTHER LIFE. ITS SO SAD THAT PEOPLE ONLY POINT OUT THE NEGATIVES WHEN A PERSON IS TRYING TO DO SOMETHING GOOD. YOU GUYS ARE IDIOTS!! GET A LIFE!! ITS BECAUSE OF YOUR NEGATIVITY THAT THERE IS SO MUCH HATE IN THIS WORLD!!!

44. To Lola:

How could you sit there and say a child is ugly?? ALL children are beautiful!! before you criticize anyone, take a look at yourself in the mirror!! YOU are probably the one that looks like a monkey!!!!!!!!!!!!

45. Why does anyone care? Why do so many people like to spread the negativity & hate? And saying that this child is better looking than the biological child? Are the people out there making these comments adults? It just sounds like too many people got stuck in a high school frame of mind and never grew up....This is a child you are discussing ..... Weather you agree or not, it's NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. What if that child were to read all these hateful comments? Would you still say them? Angelina is not one of my favorite people HOWEVER she is trying to make some type of difference in this world...Why not focus on the POSITIVE? ....
