Simon to Seacrest: "Come out!"

Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest got into a sparring match on "American Idol" last night -- skewering each other with sexuality innuendo on the live broadcast.

Moments before a performance by front-runner Melinda Doolittle in her four-inch heels, Seacrest asked Cowell if he had any advice for her wearing the high heels, to which Simon replied, "You should know, Ryan." Seacrest then set himself up big-time by saying, "Stay out of my closet," leading to the inevitable "Come out!" from Cowell! Ryan then countered with, "This is about the Top 12, not your wishes!"

This isn't the first time the two have, er, exchanged blows over sexuality. Last season, GLAAD reached out to the show to discuss their "concerns and the concerns of community members and allies."

18. Ryan didn't get offended, and neither did I. It was all in good fun. I personally don't care if Ryan Seacrest is gay or not. It's none of my business. I say to all people to just be concerned with your own sexuality. Mine is none of your business. That's the way we all should be.

25. I happen to like Simon and Ryan. If Ryan was homosexual, Simon would not be giving him the hard time that he is... I think he just likes to give him a hard time about it b/c that seems to be the big question these days (Ryans preference), and he obviously likes to keep fueling the fire lol. They both accuse the other of being gay... I dont think its b/c they really are.. I think they just do it, to do it.

If he were really gay or what not (which who cares, hes hot and it shouldnt mattter) I think it would be unfolding like the Greys Anatomy drama!

26. I like Seacrest. I could care less if he's gay. Why he thinks he has to hide it (if he is) when he's SO well liked and the show is a megahit...that's beyond me.

I thought last night's exchange was hysterical. I think that if there are more exchanges this season, it's fast going to become more harassing than hysterical.

C'mon, Ryan. Either you're in or you're out, but be brave enough not to have it both ways.

29. They had been behaving all this time & then "the" comment. It was funny. Ryan always gets the last word, so it was great that Simon scored last night. And instead of coming undone like he has in the past, Ryan handled it. Now....if only they'd sully Paula, that nitwit!!

30. sad to say even in hollywood in the 21st century in the male segment anyway of the gay population so afraid to come out,yet for the women population it's perfectly alright i.e.rosie ,ellen,no one seems to have a problem with it in the general population WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT !
