Simon to Seacrest: "Come out!"

Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest got into a sparring match on "American Idol" last night -- skewering each other with sexuality innuendo on the live broadcast.

Moments before a performance by front-runner Melinda Doolittle in her four-inch heels, Seacrest asked Cowell if he had any advice for her wearing the high heels, to which Simon replied, "You should know, Ryan." Seacrest then set himself up big-time by saying, "Stay out of my closet," leading to the inevitable "Come out!" from Cowell! Ryan then countered with, "This is about the Top 12, not your wishes!"

This isn't the first time the two have, er, exchanged blows over sexuality. Last season, GLAAD reached out to the show to discuss their "concerns and the concerns of community members and allies."

31. 18. I happen to like Simon and Ryan. If Ryan was homosexual, Simon would not be giving him the hard time that he is... I think he just likes to give him a hard time about it b/c that seems to be the big question these days (Ryans preference), and he obviously likes to keep fueling the fire lol. They both accuse the other of being gay... I dont think its b/c they really are.. I think they just do it, to do it.

33. I really think they genuinely are friends and that they purposely cook up things to say to each other. Cuz sometimes during the breaks you'll see them standing near each other chatting, etc. If they really didnt like each other they would be as far apart as possible.

34. Has anyone noticed that Ryan is more 'hands-on' with the male American Idol's? He's patting their shoulders and touching them more than the females after the judges critique them. He seems more affectionate towards the males and distant from the females.

35. No one's mentioned this, but....

I've listened to the video several times. I swear, when Ryan says, "Stay out of my closet," he LISPED the word as "clothet." Was that intentional? And was he doing it to imitate the gay effeminate stereotype in a mocking of other gays to suggest that HE isn't gay?
