Virgie Goes to Bahamas Seeking Guardianship

Virgie Arthur just won't go away. She'll be in the Bahamas tomorrow, asking a judge to award her guardianship of Dannielynn -- this, according to Court TV Correspondent Jean Casarez.

Jean tells TMZ that Virgie wants guardianship pending a ruling on who's the daddy.

But there are several obstacles standing in her way. In addition to the fact that Anna detested Virgie, Jean has learned that the Supreme Court of the Bahamas has directed Social Services on the island to do a background check on her. Social Services will also do background checks on Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead. The findings will be revealed in court tomorrow.

And speaking of Social Services, Jean learned that there is no current investigation as to whether Dannielynn is currently in safe care with Howard K. Stern. That's because no formal complaint has ever been lodged.

18. IVirgie for guardianship?? Not after seeing ANS show the hate she had for her and the abuse she went through while at home. They need to stop all this snail crawl and get the DNA done and give the baby to LB (if indeed it is his, and I think it is). AND... howard needs to take a DNA also to see if HE is the father. If he is not, he needs to step out of the picture. if HKS is NOT the father, I don't see how he can legally keep the child and make it his permanent meal ticket just as he did with Anna.

19. Virgie may be Dannielynn's grandmother, but she also played no small role in fucking up Anna Nicole. I don't think that she can provide the sanity and safety that Larry Birkhead can.

When the DNA shows that Larry's the dad, maybe...just MAYBE...he'll get custody and Virgie (and HKS) will fade away.

22. I believe Virgie will only go after custody if the child is awarded to Stern.

I am shocked to learn no child services have ever been sent to check on the baby, I thought that it was reported by Barth via a tv interview that the baby was fine and social services confirmed it?

Unbelieveable.....he has had that baby holed up @ Horizons being cared for by a woman who is not even a relative....Dannilynne is being cared for by 2 non relatives and the blood relatives are denied her. This is too much!

23. It seems funny that one of her complaints about Anna being buried in the Bahamas was that she wouldn't have enough money to travel there to put flowers on her grave. It seems to me she isn't having any problem getting there when she wants to. Splash News footing the bill perhaps?

24. The first, and most immediate, step for Larry to get his DNA test on the baby and eventually custody of the little girl is for Vergie to get temporary guardianship. She's safer with Vergie than with HKS in the Bahamas. And while the publicity is so huge right now, the baby is sure to be handled with great care by whomever she lives with ... as long as it's in the US.
