63. Birkhead didn't need her! He needs to have an attorney in the Bahamas right now! He can always find another lawyer in CA when the time is right. This way he can save money on attorney fees!

64. it's so dumb when you all are assuming since debra touched him, it must be because of an affair. during my court trial i had my lawyers constantly were showing me support my doing the same thing, and i found it comforting and completely non sexual. it is a scary thing to be involved with a court hearing, and i think it only represented opri's personality towards her clients of being warm and supportive- an example of the heart she really had in this case. the only inappropriate lawyer-client relationship was the one stern CLAIMED to have had with anna.

former boyfriend asking that Smith’s partner would be forced to
immediately give a sample of his DNA for the ongoing paternity case.
TMZ.com reported that photographer Larry Birkhead , the late model’s
former boyfriend, one of the men who claim to be Smith’s baby’s father,
asked a judge to make Howard K. Stern come to California and submit to
DNA testing to determine exactly who Dannielynn Stern's father really
is. After the hearing, Birkhead’s attorney, Debra Opri said she was
confident that Stern, who is listed as the baby’s father in her birth
certificate, would be made to come to California. "Put up or shut up,
that's what we're asking for," Opri said. She also said Stern "can't
hide behind a fake birth certificate" and that his "feet will be held
to the fire." However, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Robert
A. Schnider denied Birkhead’s motion, but left the possibility that he
could change his mind later this month, open. He asked instead that
both sides would present their arguments during the next hearing which
will take place in Los Angeles on March 28. Associated Press reported
that Ron Rale, a lawyer who had represented Smith argued against the
DNA request, saying Stern's name is already on the birth certificate as
the father. "Howard Stern doesn't have to go to Larry Birkhead for
anything," Rale said. Birkhead, for his part, said, "I'm just doing
what I have to do for my daughter," and that for him, holding
Dannielynn for the first time in the Bahamas "was like being in the
delivery room." Birkhead said he has made no agreement with Stern about
the child. "My daughter is not for sale," he said. "I've been putting a
nursery together so I'm smiling," he told reporters. "I'm in a good
mood. "There's one way to end it. I'm prepared to take the test. I've
always been prepared to take the test. Ever since Anna Nicole Smith
gave birth to Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern in the Bahamas, three days
before her son, Daniel, died, Birkhead claimed he was the father, not
Stern who is listed in the birth certificate. Initially, Schnider ruled
in Birkhead's favor on December 21. Rale has said the judge wanted the
testing done by Feb. 21 but the case was stalled when Anna Nicole Smith
died of unknown causes on February 8, in a Florida hotel room.

66. IMHO, I think Opri told LB not to buy baby things and seem too over-confident as it would look very bad for him if he is not the baby's father. ANS had relations with many, many men, and any of them could be the father, not to mention the dead husband's sperm. I believe LB wanted the public behind him 100%, and showing confidence by buying baby things in a big, very public way, would show the public his strong belief that he is the father and put more of the public in his corner. I think Opri was trying to talk sense into LB that he may be in for heartbreak regarding the DNA, and he did not want to hear it so he fired her.

67. If this is true I am glad he got rid of her. I didnt like from the start. She showed total disrespect at Anna's funeral. I think he wised up and realized it is she that has prolonged this paternitybattle. If she had just filed in the Bahamas to begin with all this could have been settled by now. What a circus!!!

68. Debra Opri did an excellent job marketting and advancing what was at best a tenous position for a lover boy "boy toy" status, into a "celebrated" hero of fathers' rights for LB. Birkhead is an idiot for letting her go. Opri put LB on the map, instead of just ANS mattress..and a discard at that.... I don't care for her pushy, aggressive style....but she does get results even given very little material to start with. Because of Opri LB can parlay his Opri created credibility and fame into book deals, movie deals etc...probably what he was negotiating at the Ivy...which I noticed TMZ pulled down right away...I would hate to think this place had an "overt" for LB and against HKS...bias...

73. Amazing how long this mess is dragging out. I wonder who's to blame for this? Just ridiculous... Somebody's gotta be behind the delay. It was last week that we heard that the birth certificate could be invalid because someone signed in the wrong place, therefore forcing a DNA test. When is this all going to happen? And what about ANS's cause of death? The coroner (Perper?) said that the results would be delayed another week. And so.... it's already been another week, and then some. Answers!! When will we see some answers to all these questions?

Larry king questioned weather she said that Howard murdered Anna she just smiled & said "Its not the Krista Barth show" Um hello, its not the Debra Opri show. (way to change the subject by the way) She helped turn that court room into the circus that it was. She was very rude & always had a self rightious comment for everything. She was a bitch. He'll be able to get this baby alone with Howard. Why spend thousands to have someone talk for you?
