Larry Birkhead breaking news Larry Birkhead's attorney Debra Opri issued a statement this morning, saying "Larry Birkhead and I have terminated our attorney-client relationship effective immediately."

TMZ has learned that there has been trouble brewing for some time, and that this split was not a surprise to either party. We know they have butted heads over various issues in the past three weeks. Larry will participate in today's hearing in the Bahamas, but will only be represented by a Bahamian attorney. We know that he has not yet retained new counsel in the United States.

Opri, for her part, says "My prayers will be with Larry and Dannielynn always."

18. Who cares? This woman came off as a know-it-all bully. Uppity. These Jersey/New York types think everyone is afraid of them. I'm not. These rich people wouldn't know hard times if they kissed them on the butt. Kelly Ripa included. She is always acting on her show like she is so tough. Please. The girl is anorexic, spoiled and self-centered. Hopefully Larry hires someone still smart, yet down to earth.

23. OMG please don't tell me he fired her because he wants to strike a deal with the evil one. OMG just today! OMG what the hell did she do. She was on Greta last night and was fine.
If LB strikes a deal and by no means is he out for the money, he will have the evil one on his back the rest of his life. OMG Lord please watch over Larry today and let him be brave and strike no deals, remember he wasnt going to strike a dea.
The thing here I am so worried about is, it can be only one problem here - God no - he is going to strike a deal. remember larry he is evil from the ghetto.

25. Two Scenarios...

1. They were able to obtain DNA from the visit with baby and test results are back...not his.
2. All that arm touching and familiarity...perhaps they are more "intimate" now and she would have a moral obligation to step down.

26. Debra was a great attorney. Larry will ultimately regret this decision. Howard's attorney pales in comparison to Debra.

27. I think it's a damn shame. I think she had LB best interests at heart and wanted him to have that baby and I think LB is so stupid and will strike a deal with the devil Howard. I really like LB and think he's the father and would get the baby. I think this was a bad move.

I think that Larry was taken back by Debra's actions in their last press conference ..I noticed that at one point he wanted to stop her from what she was saying and he seemed very uncomfortable with how she was acting. I think she comes on a little bit to strong at times and that can turn people off . He might have been worried that it might ruin his chances.

29. I thought she was a good lawyer, and always got directly to the point.. no beating around the bush! I do kind of wonder what is going on.. I hope that he isnt planning on making a deal with HK$... since he is just as low as it gets.. Ugh! I juat want this crap to be over.. Give him his dang baby already! Before Howard permanatly screws her up.. its no coincidence that everyone who was under HIS control was messed up on DRUGS.. ever her 20 year old son? UGH!

30. MAYBE THE REASON THEY HAD TO TERMINATE THEIR ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP IMMEDIATELY IS BECUSE HE GOT HER KNOCKED UP ALSO....HE SEEMS TO BE PRETTY GOOD AT THAT.
