Larry Birkhead breaking newsLarry Birkhead's attorney Debra Opri issued a statement this morning, saying "Larry Birkhead and I have terminated our attorney-client relationship effective immediately."

TMZ has learned that there has been trouble brewing for some time, and that this split was not a surprise to either party. We know they have butted heads over various issues in the past three weeks. Larry will participate in today's hearing in the Bahamas, but will only be represented by a Bahamian attorney. We know that he has not yet retained new counsel in the United States.


Opri, for her part, says "My prayers will be with Larry and Dannielynn always."

61. I thought that she was the center of attention no matter where they were. I believe she was a great lawyer, but how much was she charging by the way? This can not be cheap!!!

62. Holy shit! GO LARRY! I never even thought those words would be coming out of my mouth but that BUTCH was keeping him looking like an ASSHOLE constantly stirring up all these media frenzies for herself! I guess she got enough exposure in this whole thing so shes done..Or he just realized that the retard led him WAYYYY off path by not filing for paternity in the Bahamas IMMEDIATELY instead of doing all those useless hearings just to get that ugly mug of hers in the media every second!! His attorneys were the reason I couldn't stand him because they were all so damn obnoxious and Mutant looking and they were sooo stupid and wasted so much of this guys time and just kept him looking so...BAD!! I hope he didn't pay her and she worked pro-bono because she doesn't deserve a dime!!

64. maybe LB needs to cut a deal because on Court Tv, a Bahamian lawyer has been on and it will be a real battle for LB to not only have a DNA test ordered, but to obtain custody. The Bahamians go by law/statute and the birth certificate, is a sworn affidavit by ANS stating that HKS is the father..pretty much done deal..and the lawyer stated the birth certificate looks fine..unfortunately, the Bahamians will probably not look at her past, the reason why she went there in the first place, etc...how messed up is that?

Oh, i know she realized she was never going to get paid so she said heck with this.....

I'm sitting here watching Court Tv and that Bahamian attorney all but said that in the Bahamas Howard will be and is the child's father ..IN other words poor Dannilynn will be in the Bahamas until the age of 18..Its a losing battle and i think right now Larry is realizing that and just what to make a deal..Give me my child and forget the rest. you can have it all. I want my child...I don't blame him however after Larry gets his child i hope the police really investigate Stern..I knew something was up..Krista Farth was a little bit too confident yesterday on Court tv and Greta yesterday....She literally said that even if Howard isn't the father he still will have custody of the baby

Larry B. is pretty smart, He wants his baby girl only, He watched what Howard K.did to AnnaNicole(Vicky Lynn). I belive Larry will try to work with Vergie on her grand daughter so the baby can grow up around her FAMILY not A (lawyer-drug runner,gready killer), who is going to be found guilty of MURDER of the son Daniel and his beloved mother Anna Nincole. 73. She must be upset that her "15 minutes" is up. She makes other attorneys look good, which is pretty hard. I couldn't believe she was at the funeral laughing! A lousy attorney and a mean-spirited human being. I am glad we don't have to see that ugly face any more!

74. This may just be a put on because HKS and his lawyers keep fussing about handling this without the lawyers. So maybe they wnt HKS to think he is dropping the lawyers and he'll get the baby's DNA.

75. I think they fell in love and she no longer wants to be his attorney but his lover!! And she doesnt want to be accused of unethical practices by getting involved with a client. Just watch and see!
