Tila Tequila's 1.7 Million "Friends" Not Giving Single a Shot

Tila Tequila may be the most popular person ever on MySpace, but it turns out not very many of her 1.7 million friends wanted to shell out a buck for her first single, "I Love U."

In the first week after the single's release, only 13,000 copies of the single were sold, or less than 1 percent of her MySpace posse -- and the single didn't even make it onto the 75-deep Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart, as Billboard reports. And after a brief appearance at the bottom end of the iTunes top 100 singles chart, "I Love U" disappeared, while nearly two-year-old hits like the Pussycat Dolls' "Don't Cha" and Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" both hang around the charts.

To be fair, Tila didn't have the benefit of a major record label pushing her single. Then again, as she herself told everyone from the New York Times to Rolling Stone, she turned down two label deals to do it her own way -- and may be paying the price. (And the music itself might have something to it -- the song, produced though it was by crunkmeister Lil Jon, has been roundly savaged.)

On the bright side of things, a week after the single's release, the video for "I Love U" -- which prominently features Tila's more salient assets -- was the most-downloaded music video on iTunes. And this week, Tila expands her digital distribution push through such channels as the "Hoooka" on indie911.com

Neither Tila nor her management had responded to messages at the time of publication.

And shes only popular on Myspace because she takes pictures barely covering herself and all the horny ass 13 yr old boys like jackin off to them. I have a MYSPACE account as well and She added me not the other way around..I dont think shes the best her music does suck..Just like jeffree Stars music is a Fucking joke..Like the other person said just because she has over a million ppl as her friends doesnt mean crap She never sends nothing in return and why the hell should we fork out a $ 1...I thought she had it made according to her BLOGS. flashing her money around..maybe shes getting her money by shaking her booty to every tom dick and harry cause it sure as hell aint her music bringing in the money.

The only people on Myspace that I know that have Tequila on their pages have it there strictly for laughs...it's always easy to find a ho online and she really put herself out there...she's one of the most self-centered people i've seen in ages and i hope she doesn't make enough to take a train to new jersey ... she sucks.

23. Its because she's one of the best looking half-naked Asian girls on the market right now.. but look at that Forbidden chick. Being popular on MySpace might land you a bunch of page comments, some interviews, or a poorly edited layout in Playboy.. but if you don't have any talent other than being decent to LOOK at, you aren't going to exactly make billions in categories that even your fans expect you to have skill in before forking over their cash.

You can YouTube the video, and while its a plus she spends all 4 minutes rolling around wet or in underwear, its a big distraction to hear her lack of pitch and tone hideously rap things like, "Das why yo pager dun work no mo."

Leave the music industry -- especially rap, etc -- to the folks with the talent to do so. It's embarassing! Or, if you MUST be famous for singing, do it how Paris Hilton did: sign yourself into a record label that can mix like nobodys business in the studio to alter, synthesize, and edit your song to the point we can't tell who is singing anyway.

24. I know for a fact that Tila didnt come over here on a boat! She was born here, look at her school pix and i dont believe she is asian at all!! She is gluing her eyelids so it looks asian and wearing big black contacts. Ive seen her with no makeup on and the only thing that looks remotely asian is her eyes(either taped or glued) I askes Sasha /singleton if Tila was asian and she said "i dont believe Tila is half asian" Sasha Singleton doesnt even look asian at all!! Look back to import revolution, she looks completely caucasian. I think she's a liar.I mean, has she ever showed photos of her parents?

25. If you look at the photos you'll see her breasts got much bigger over time, but her butt is gorgeous. Most asian lasses have horrible asses, so it could be her only real, good feature.
