Letterman Sick, Sandler to Host

Sandler, Letterman David Letterman has come down with a stomach virus and won't host "The Late Show" tonight, so Adam Sandler will take his place, TMZ has learned.

Sources tell TMZ that Letterman came into the office today, but didn't feel up to hosting. It was the last scheduled taping for the week, so Dave thought it best to get the extra rest.

Sandler's guests will be his "Reign Over Me" co-star Don Cheadle, comedian Todd Barry, race car driver Danica Patrick and singer Lucinda Williams.

Dave, who has only been off the job twice -- for heart surgery and a case of the shingles -- is expected back on Monday.

4. It's "Reign Over Me", not "Reign of Fire"!!! DUH!!! "Reign of Fire" was a stupid dragon movie with Matt McConaughy!

7. Dave has been off plenty. His whole last week was re-runs. Why not show another tonight. I don't like Dave, but I'd rather see him than Sandler. Isn't his 15 minutes of fame over yet?

12. Thanks for giving us a break from goofy Letterman. The show is stale and hasn't progress since his first day at CBS. This is evident from Leno blowing him out of the water in ratings each week. The top ten list is worn out, paul shaffer is like a bad cyst
and his knowledge of his guest is embarrassing. However, I wish him well and speedy return.

Sandler's characters are the worst in the history of movies. He gets the lifetime NON-achievement award.

Oh,NO...He is too boring. Get Craig Ferguson he is great.

Craig Ferguson should permently replace Dave. He would bring back late night comedy and high ratings, too.

Dave needs to retire and enjoy his son.
