106. This "thing" isn't supposed to be anything but what it is -- a damn TV show whose purpose is to bring in viewers, advertisers, and loads of money for the producers. This isn't the friggin' Smithsonian Institution, people!! It's a show that gives kids a chance to be heard. Frankly, I'd just as soon not listen to -- or watch -- some clone like Blake or the uber-professional Melinda (do not tell me she is 29; more like 33). It's fun to see someone different. I like Sanjaya's voice. I'm no 12-year-old. I'm not gay and I'm not desperate. Ordinary people are voting for Sanjaya, too. He's got a great voice that's DIFFERENT from the clone voices you hear everywhere on the radio.

107. Paris Hilton cant even HUM and she recorded a ALBUM even scott scortch paid for the whole thing, sucker. This kid can at least hum and can sing a bit. I think hes adorable.

108. I have to say I feel sorry for this young kid. Would you like to be in his place, having never been exposed to success, throughout the whole World and now reading all the nasty comments about him. He is not doing this, don't put him down and talk trash.People he is someone's Son and if it were my Son that had all the things said about him like this kid has,, I would be kicking some butt...4th Degree Karate Belt..Run Simon. The Judges voted him in , now the teenies Mothers are letting their daughters stay on the phone and vote for 2 hours.

I think next year on AI, if there is one, They should change the age to 20 and above. Someone more mature that 12 year old girls will not go crazy over due to their hormonal imbalance at that age. Of thinking about this again I remember when I went to the Josh Goban Concert when he was about 18 the girls and their MOTHERS were yelling we love you Josh. Since I was close enough I could see him blush. Now that Josh is in his middle 20's those little girls are no longer yelling , but the MOTHERS still are, ok, ok, and so am I. So raise the age to start on the Show.

People please do not talk nasty or be so rude, in what you say about Sanyaha. HE IS JUST A TEENAGER. I think right now he wishes he would be kicked off to just not hear or read another week on the uglies of how people . Can you imagine how confusing this is to this kid that he reads how people that don't know him have formed there ugly opinion about him. I could not read that each morning.
NO MORE PERSONAL ATTACKS, OK HE CAN'T SING LIKE THE OTHERS BUT SOME OF THE WRITINGS I HAVE HEARD PEOPLE SAY OF A PERSONAL NATURE ARE JUST WRONG AND COULD CAUSE HIM TO HAVE LOW SELF ESTEEM IN HIS FUTURE.

He should be let go soon before he has to live the rest of his life as a punch line.... now sad. Vote for a singer and don't make this 6th year the "year of Sanyaha" or a punchline on all the LATE NIGHT TALK SHOWS, which he has already become. I wouldn't want to hear one of these Shows make fun of me.... AGAIN SAD VERY SAD.

110. AMERICAN IDOL IS A SHOW FOR SINGING TALENT. THIS KID IS OUT OF HIS LEAGUE AND DOES NOT BELONG AT THE TOP. HE IS MAKING A LAUGHING STOCK OUT OF THE SHOW AND I REALLY THINK HE THINKS IT FUNNY. THIS WILL DISTROY THE SHOW IF IT KEEPS UP.

112. Let's give the kid a break. Being on Idol is taking a big risk. I believe he will be relieved when he is voted off - to keep him on the show does not feed him. He knows he isn't at the point in his maturity where he will rock as a singer. I don't see him as a Jackson wannabe. People are being cruel and insensitive to his plight. As for starving, I wouldn't fast for anyone. That's dumb.

113. Pfft....the person who commented on 4...american idol will go down if he wins?!?..I'm pretty sure that American Idol went down last year,when Taylor Hicks won. And Sanjaya isn't half as bad as that guy..I hope he wins,he has a really nice voice and he seems like a sweetheart.

115. If taylor hicks could win, anybody can. I'll take sanjaya over him any day. At least he's cute. Anyone with ears knows that melinda is the best singer left, but A/idol is not just a singing competition- no matter what simon says. In reality, it's just like everything else; a popularity contest. It's about charisma and the ability to attract attention.
PS Blake is my second favorite guy after sanjaya.

116. Well now I can Tivo something else. I've had it. Won't waste my time watching this s_ _t anymore. Real talent is going to waste, and I would love to be a fly on the wall and hear what the other potential "idols" are saying to eachother. I give kudos to them for holding their thoughts and not speaking out loud. If I were one of them I would be "singing another tune"

117. Sanjaya needs to go home!!! Simon makes honest statements and although he might be crude at times, he tells it the way it is ...I wouldn't want to watch Idol anymore if simon wasn't judging the talents.
Sanjaya might be a nice young man but he definately needs to go!!!!1

119. You guys are just too pathetic for all your lousy comments about Sanjaya, his singing is not actually as bad as you people try to make it sound. To me, Sanjaya is a great talent; he just needs to be less shy and put more power in his voice. He is a little sweet boy and I still wonder how anybody could say anything bad about that sweet soul, afterall he's not the one who votes himself in everyweek.
