E-Gads!! -- Judge Seidlin's E-Mails Under Scrutiny

3/25/2007 11:07 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Judge Larry Seidlin, who decided where Anna Nicole's body would be buried, is now having his own body of evidence reviewed.

TMZ has learned Chief Judge Dale Ross of the Broward Courts has received a public records request for all e-mails sent to and from Judge Seidlin's office computer during the Anna Nicole Smith hearing.

Although we're not sure, typically these requests come from media organizations. Florida has a "sunshine law" that favors the disclosure of public information. One reason the computer might prove interesting is if the colorful judge was communicating with the media to strike an on-air deal after the hearing was complete, though we do not know that to be the case.

As far as we know, the Chief Judge has not ruled on the request.

19. I so agree with you. It is so awful that people are posting the way they are and saying such negative comments.

Although I would like to say that the problem is the media and what they report to the American public. But unfortunately some of the American public likes to hide behind a computer screen and cause DRAMA. They feel they have power looking at a monitor. It's so sad what they are all saying and I am sure, should anyone here that is so negative and had to face even on of the issues at hand, they would only hope that they had support from the American people.

This may be the land of opportunity ... the opportunity to rip at other people's heart and souls and this is despicable. The American posters here that act and post the way they do are in the minority, and don't represent all of us.

At one time UNITED WE STAND meant something here. But as the rest of this statement goes .... DIVIDED WE FALL!

Attractive?

I watched the whole case. He gave the body to Milstein. Milstein who jumped up and vigorously argued against having a DNA test on the baby. Great guardian. It would have helped to know who the biological father was in the case. They had it set up. During the appeal, the Old Queen sat next to his good friend Stern. Then Milstein waxed poetic at the funeral for a woman he NEVER met before. Strange.

Yes indeed, once Judge Seidlin observed the players, he was pro Larry...that is probably why he cried knowing legally the Judge could not rule as he would have wanted to because at the time...and still now....Larry Birkhead had no legal standing. The Judge was brilliant

of course, the judge is a wacko, never saw anything like it in all my born days. He was really after something. I heard he got his t.v. show from the acting he did with ANS`s hearing.

This Judge, as whacky as he was, did a good thing, he let everyone say their peice. Which in probate is very important, that way no one walked away saying why did he do this....Who cares what his email says....unless of course he was the one selling mary jane to the other judge. But I doubt it. Any judge would be stupid at this day in age to put anything inappropriate in an email. I dont think this judge was stupid.

Free speech

I agree that Seidlin had his mind up from Day One. Then he fashioned a legal opinion around what he wanted to do. If you take the time to read his final opinion (it is posted on TMZ) you will see his legal argument was faulty. He wrote new law, by appointing a Guardian for a minor child. She was NOT next of kin according to the law as written by the Florida Legislature. Say what you will about Vergie, but she had the strongest LEGAL right to the body.

I think TMZ, CNN, etc. should ALSO make a Request for Milstein's emails, as related to this trial. What has HE benefited from volunteering to serve as Trustee for DannyLynn's Trust ?(you know, the trust that has the $4 million from ET for the funeral---nice chuck of change, if he is getting a 10% Trustee fee). Who did he communicate with during the trial? What has he gained?

Seidlin is a public servant, so those emails are fair game. Just like if you worked in a private company, the company has a right to see your emails. No different.

I don't say they should make all his emails public, but anything that is incriminating, and could have affected his final decision---hey, that is absolutely fair game.

TMZ: if you have info on this story, surely you can find out WHO made the request. Then you can call them, and NOT have to speculate as to the reason. Sunshine Law allows that, too.

To: Think about it

I think that judge Seidlin found Howard K. Stern to be an enabler and personally distasteful, however, he gave custody of the body to the guardian ad leitem for the baby and instructed him that he wanted the body buried in the Bahamas. This was exactly what Howard K. Stern had wanted. As the Judge was giving his verdict you could see Howard and his attornies congratulating each other. I was sickened.

I frankly don't care where Anna Nicole wanted to be buried. I care that poor aniel shows up to visit his mom in a place he hated and within a few hours he is dead, and now he is buried there. Howard K. Stern had Daniel buried there. The other day on FOX they had a report that Dr. Erosovice's husband wired $15,000 to herself and to Howard K. Stern in four separate transactions, possibly to avoid U. S. monetary transaction reporting laws. This money may have been to pay for the burial plots.

Earlier, in one of the emails Anna Nicole had sent to G. Bemn Thompson, Anna had said she couldn't pay for the house, and she didn't even have enough money to "berry" her son. Anna didn't bury him in the Bahamas, Howard did.

Stupid Judge!!-I think he loved being in the limelight
and on tv!-
What a master performer!!
He gave Howard (Milstein) control over Anna's
body--and even gave him jet service back and forth to the court
hearings---
-even thou-Virgie is next of kin---she was trashed in his
court!- ("ok Texas sit down")--
Now look at the mess in the
Bahama's!!--
this will go on and on and on........

To Judge Seidlin...I wish you were hearing my case. Best wishes to you, you did an excellent job. I think the rest is spin...because most judges and lawyers do not want an open court room. most have too much to hide...no more graft...no more lies. I love Judge Seidlin

show me the $$

It's about time someone took a second look. If they look at anything, it should be his incompetance. He examines the witnesses himself, won't let lawyers cross-examine, HE objects anytime anyone asked Stern one of the tough questions, wanted to know how much money each side had and how they spent it (why, it was a body custody hearing). And then there was the ridiculous speaker phone call from Perper every day (HURRY, she's ROTTING!), which was all B.S. A week later Perper's saying they could still have an open casket in the Bahamas.

And then he awards the body to a 5 month old baby who under Florida probate laws didn't fit the legal definition of next of kin. If HE was recognizing her, then he just should have said at the beginning to Millstein, you decide, which is what happened anyway. We wouldn't have had to watch a 3 ring circus for over a week.

And as far as the tears, judges are supposed to be IMPARTIAL and only weigh the evidence according to the law. The man was up there slobbering like a baby, and his decision was to make NO decision, and left it up to Millstein. He let himself get sucked in to the whole soap opera.

It was a complete farce. He was the butt of SNL's jokes last weekend. The only thing good that I can say about him, is at least he hasn't gotten busted for anything like the other dumbass judge.
