18. My husband said that Howard Stern's promoting everyone to vote for this kid. Call, Call, Call!!! I HATE HOWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I know he has a huge fan base. Watch this kid win because of the HS votes! Argh!

I hope your friends and family can get you the help, as starving yourself can lead to hypoglycemia which can be deadly. It's not a game. It's a reality show and you need perspective at this point. 21. I don't think that American Idol is not a legitimate show if a singer that people don't think deserves to wins does, as it means that his critics are voting enough.

Also........regardless of the "winner"...........the singers who are the most talented will get record contracts and their lives will be forever changed. I am looking forward to supporting Melinda, Blake, Jordan & Lakeisha..............no matter 'who' wins.

I wish the comments about Sanjaya weren't as cruel since he's just a kid. He has the opportunity to become a better singer & performer. American Idol tickets will be more sought out so that people can see him perform. I truly think he's having the last laugh on us. :)

22. I understand people don't like Sanjaya, but is anybody else on this season really that good? The contestants probably don't want Sanjaya to go anywhere because they probably feel he makes them look better. Haley's awful, Gina's playing dress up wannabe rocker girl, the guys are average, it's a down season. Sanjaya isn't really that bad compared to what's left in the contest. I think the novelty of Idol has worn off and people don't feel they necessarily have to vote for the best singer anymore. All things peak, and I think Idol peaked last year with the talent they had, this season isn't even close.

#11 -- I thought it was a singing competition for people who are ready to be a stage presence and ready to 'belt it out' - not someone that MIGHT grow into it. With Sanje still in the competition, it looks like a popularity competition --

I dont beleive that it is fair to keep voting off contenstants that can actually sing - and lets be honest here -- when we listen to the radio and hear a new song, do we wait to pass judgement on that song until we have seen what the artist looks like? No, I think that we decide on the merits of the voice and the tune/beat....

Who cares that this is a good kid - kind kid - whatever -- he is not better than the people that have been voted off -- he cant even remember the words in his songs....

26. Well at last the mystery has been solved! Regardless of how you feel about this young man, he thinks he is doing his best. Howard Sterns girlfriend was on the View, and said her boyfriend (Howard), has been asking all of his listener to call in for this kid. Howard has a large fan base, and people do what he says. So, this singer is not going to go soon, not because he can or cannot sign, but because people of his race, and Howard Sterns fans are voting for him. Don't take this to heart, eat. There will always be people trying to fix a race, no matter what the game. And let's face it, American Idol is a game, one which I watch, but it is just entertainement. Eat girl, eat. Don't over eat and get sick or fat, but eat. This is just television, not your life.

27. Sanjaya, you're probably a nice kid, you seen to have a loving family, etc. However, you've ruined the show for me.
Your presence and the "vote for the worst campaign" has led to others being voted off who are much more talented than you. Simply, it's not fair.
You should have never made it this far and certainly not on the Idol tour this summer.
Please do the right thing and step down.

I have a new outlook on Sanjaya. I've decided to embrace the kid. Once you stop angsting over him, the show is much more fun. And for your information, folks, I just checked a huge television message board that is notorious for hating everyone and they are beginning to love Sanjaya and are voting like crazy for him. I just don't understand why everyone is so upset over this reality show. Why do you care so much? Even Simon Renshaw, the producer, has said he has only listened to 2 albums from past contestants. If he doesn't care, why should we?.
