62. Everyone keeps saying that this is a singing competition and Sanjaya shouldn't be still in the competition, but the fact is this is a popularity contest. If it was just a singing competition it would be called america's top singer. The word idol means "one that is adored". I believe that people do adore him or idolize him. To idolize someone you usually see yourself in that person, whether it be similar ethnicity or age or persona. So if people vote for him cause he's part indian or because he's timid or because he's whatever, then they have every right to vote and sanjaya has every right to stay where he is. If Sanjaya is supposedly tone deaf and many of you guys have been saying, how come the judges voted him into the top 24. The fact is if someone was tone deaf they wouldn't get past the first round and make it to hollywood. Everyone who makes it to hollywood can sing, but not everyone is deemed to have star quality or the "it" factor. The judges saw something in Sanjaya that they thought the public would like. I think they were right. Honestly, I dont think he has a chance to win the whole thing. My pic is Blake.

64. Am I the only person who feels like this is yet another sign of the end of our civilization? As if "reality" TV wasn't enough, now some idiotic girl goes on a hunger strike (supposedly) over some teenage singer? Are you aware that there is a war on? That we have an administration destroying everything our country used to stand for? Gimme a friggin' break!

66. If Sanjaya had any self respect he would bow out gracefully. Im sure hes aware that hes a running joke for most of America. Hes just taking positions away from people who really deserve it. And"J" eat a cheeseburger. this compitition is not worth getting sick over.

67. I think you have it all wrong.

We (the Sanjaya fans) have realized that there lies a great singer inside Sanjaya that will break out any day. We recognize that he has talent that dwarfs everyone else on the show and he has only shown glimpses of it. Anyday now he will sing so well and knock all your socks off that you will be ashamed for having slandered him. Just you wait, the real Sanjaya that we know exists within him will break out any day now.

There is no doubt whatsoever that Sanjaya will win this competition and he will sell more records then all the previous idol successes put together. He will be an international sensation. He is the next king of pop and is destined to take the place vacated by Michael Jackson.
