Mia Farrow to Spielberg: Don't Act Like a Nazi Filmmaker!

Mia Farrow vs. Steven SpielbergMia Farrow lashed out at Steven Spielberg for his involvement with the 2008 Beijing Olympics, going so far as to compare the Oscar-winning director to a Nazi filmmaker! Oy gevalt!

Spielberg is consulting on the opening and closing ceremonies for the Beijing games. In a Wall Street Journal article titled, "The Genocide Olympics," Farrow accuses China of "bankrolling Darfur's genocide" in Sudan, and calls Spielberg (and various corporate sponsors) to task for attempting "to sanitize Beijing's image." Farrow wants them to use their power to put pressure on the Chinese government in order to end the slaughter in Darfur.

Farrow demanded, "Does Mr. Spielberg really want to go down in history as the Leni Riefenstahl of the Beijing Games?" Riefenstahl, who died in 2003 at age 101, was the German film director famous for her Nazi propaganda films, "Olympia," and "Triumph of the Will."

Notably, Spielberg produced and directed "Schindler's List." His proceeds from the film go directly to the Shoah Foundation, dedicated to preserving the testimony of genocide survivors, including the Holocaust.

TMZ contacted Steven Spielberg's rep, who had no comment.

18. Mia is a admirable person. Aside from adopting many poor and needy kids I think she conducts her self with great class in all she does and never draws attention to herself. Woody Allen (the pervert) was the problem!! He betrayed her terribly and had sex with his own daughter and everyone in Hollywood still acts like he is the big shot. As for Steven Spielberg; he has alwaus given me the creeps. His career is SO over and Mia is right about what she said! Go Mia!

20. I totally agree China has been a totalitarian country for almost 60 years. Their human rights record has always been horrible. and presently they treat their rural population like crap. However, the same people who rail against China are the same people who are first in the check-out line at Wal-Marts for the cheap China goods. We can even talk about their unprecedented military build-up and their eventual invasion of Taiwan. If we ever find ourselves in a war or skirmish with China, you'll the first to defend China and blame the West. So hypocrisy is everywhere and China becomes flavor of the month.

21. To; Anna Nicole Jesus,
First, I don't think Jesus should be an appropriate last name.for you. I believe KKK or "I'm a Tool" will do. I not sure what historical books you've been reading; but it appears to be ZERO along with your IQ. You're Mother country of Iran is calling and the clan of "Tools" would like to use you. Please continue to stay in that dark corner; however, do it in a country that will listen...LIKE IRAN.

25. Usually, I feel neutral about Mia Farrow, but she seems to get a little carried away.
Railing at Speilberg? Nazi references? Despising corporate sponsors?
Mia, Mia Mia, don't you remember -- I guess you don't since you were the famous one and I wasn't -- how you sat, undetected by the world, next to me in the cafe section at Costco's (a Corporation!) in Brookfield , at Thanksgiving time, where you ate a corporately manufactured yogurt treat, and next to you was a cart (and you know how big they are at Costco's) filled with seeming Christmas gifts, including a huge unwieldy box, a kind of electronic game with both a picture of, and the name, "Buddha" on it That was certainly celebrating commercialism, wasn't it? I remember that although you looked very pasty-cheeked, you wearing a very nice powder blue ski cap and black jacket and boots, very well made, and probably your attire, if only the weaving fibers, had to be produced by some corporate process at some stage, even if were custom-made. I admired how low-key you were. So what happened? Please don't let the media fascination with Angelina's constant adoptions make you feel that you should have continued until you adopted 30 refugees.

Okay, I'll stop, but please Mia think about what I said. I mean you owe me in a way, you had a great lunch that day, I had a stressed one, hoping that my mother with Alzheimer's, sitting elbow to elbow with you, would not suddenly remember her favorite movie of the past decade,, by blurting out a frequent demand for her pull-string toy from Toy Story, "Hey, Where's Woody?!"

26. P.S. See Mia, I make mistakes too. Per my #31 comment, the director's name should be spelled "Spielberg" and a proper "were wearing" phrase should be there, too. Oh, and there's one comma too many after the word "decade." Mia, see how frazzled you've made me!

27. #37: Why are you wasting your breath on such a loon? I read her previous remarks and found myself laughing at their absurdity. People like her are incapable of deductive reasoning and thought. They are stupid people driven by a base emotion: hate.

28. When Spielberg was trying to destroy a wetland to build his new studio, which he eventually abandoned due to financing issues, journalist Alexander Cockburn wrote an article about Spielberg and found that, although Spielberg had promised a portion of the proceeds from "Schindler's List" to his Shoah Foundation, he didn't give them the money he promised. Spielberg is one of the nastiest, greediest people in Hollywood and will do anything for a buck. Don't be fooled by his warm, fuzzy, liberal exterior. He doesn't give a damn about the people of Darfur as long as he can make a dollar off of their suffering.
