Mia Farrow to Spielberg: Don't Act Like a Nazi Filmmaker!

31. Darfar is only one of the many countries that China has been destroying...just look at Tibet and their continuing destruction there. (kinda sounds like our US government in the middle east)
I was shocked when China was chosen to host the Olympics in 08 and I plan to not watch any of it.
Just because Spielberg made a movie about the holocaust doesnt make him any less to blame for what he is doing now.

32. I think Mia is making a good point here. Use history to prevent blunders in our present or future. Spielberg, as a citizen of a free country, should not be involved with the glorification of China and the Chinese Olympics. China is using slave labor in their prisons for their own gain, no free speech or religion( that should be a big one for people of Hollywood ), they are practically poisoning their own environment and people with their lack of environmental policies. His conscience should tell him not to do it!!

33. Although she may or may not be correct, the real villians are the Arab Muslims killing NONArab Muslims and Christians. The problem is not China. Why can't people like Mia and Clooney-- all of those who cry to stop the genocide in Darfur-- why can't these people call a spade a spade. The problem isn't China, it's Islam-- or, if that's too politically incorrect of me to say, the problem is Islamists-- and where there is mass slaughter in the world, the Muslims are involved.

The left is comfortable talking about Darfur because they believe it's only racially motivated or they want to believe that this is so because they are so loath to criticize Islam as a religion. But, it's really not just racially motivated. It is also religiously and theologically motivated. The left also wants to believe that the Islamists hate the West and America because of politics. But, they hate us because we exist and because we are not Muslim. They seek to change this-- they want a world of Muslim domination-- dar al-Islam. To Muslims, world peace means the whole world is Muslim-- according to the Koran, there cannot be a house of peace, or world peace, unless this is the case. We must all submit to Islam. In fact, the very word 'Islam' MEANS submission.

If we are to win this cultural war, this war against radical Islam, we are going to need to recognize how lethal Islam is. Also, since the rest of the world has pretty much waved the white flag and won't do anything, we should consider allying with China against this.

Everyone: read Francis Bok's book, 'Escape from Slavery" and Kola Boof's book, 'Diary of a Lost Girl" to see what is really going on with the Muslims and native Africans.
Forget about Mia and George Clooney and those of that ilk. Read these first-hand accounts of savage murder and enslavement that Islam's doctrines encourage Muslims to perpetuate.

35. IMO, Spielberg is the ultimate media whore. He's an awards junkie!
He knows exactly how to manipulate the media, the moviegoer, the electorate, show business people;...just the type of guy who would give his blessings to another power-mad celeb: Tom Cruise!

I loved "Schindler's List"! I dozed off during his WWII movie; and that's because I knew I was being manipulated. He just couldn't help himself; and I, in turn, couldn't help myself.

The Chinese are getting more powerful every year. The goods we buy are not donated by them. And the day will come when they will flex their muscles for all the world to see!
There will probably have to be much more human rights violations before the near-sighted Americans can see!

37. AnnaNicholeisJesus is no doubt the most insightful poster here and her ignorant detractors are the real “toolbags” in my opinion. There is no phony trumped up slime you can sling at her (six million, self hater, nazi, anti-semite, etc.) that will stick or have any impact. Thinking people are on to that spurious tactic. What she writes is basically the truth as she sees it, as hateful and distasteful as it is to some. Wake up, if you thought it was bad “way back when” and not worse today then you need your head examined (by a non-duplicitous shrink).

I have a theory, the real AnnaNicholeisJesus it’s obvious to me, never got the acclaim he/she desired in Hollywood, it was either an acting part she didn’t get or a screenplay that was rejected by the “powers that be” in Hollywood or the gestalt of finally coming to terms about who really holds the keys to all the gates leading to the public forum in HollyBollywood. So, she is venting (and maybe rightly so) on the snarled faced scumbags who run the show in tinsel town/Madison Avenue and who no doubt in her perception thwarted her “noble” ambitions.

TMZ with the failed lawyer turned gossip pimp Harvey Levin at the helm has unleashed this screed of hatred at this forum by pointedly and unabashedly singling out Oscar winning actor Mel Gibson for his personal vendetta hate mantra; using (with Matt Drudge backing him) his bully pulpit (yawn) TMZ trying to trash Gibson every chance he gets. Harvey Levin is a “member of the tribe” who has the unenviable task of being hired (financed) as a bulldog for Hollywood special interests, those interests being the need for a point man of slander/smear from the gutter. What better choice could they have made than choosing Levin the failed lawyer and obsessive collector of horror movie memorabilia.

In the end, as usual they will overplay their hand.

38. I love Spielberg's movies, but Mia is right. The Chinese dictatorship occupied Tibet, supressed human rights, is sending political opponents to prison, etc. How can Spielberg make movies against the Nazis and at the same time collaborate with the Chinese dictators? How can he promote the memory of the Shoah and at the same time work for a government that killed hundreds of thousands of Tibetans? All tyrannies are equally wrong and all their victims deserve the same respect and homage.

39. Mia Farrow is telling the truth on Chinese government...but she is so stupid and superficial to put those hard words on Spielberg and 2008 Olympics. Anyway, Olympics is a game for all the people around the world. And I believe that Mr. Spielberg is also thinking like this. What he wants to do is to make a wonderful film for all of us, living on the same earth, not for any government.

Besides, I am quite sure that this film is totally different from the NAZI one. That's because this film is not a political film, like "Olympia," and "Triumph of the Will."(Have u guys ever seen these films before?) Mr. Spielberg is just want to make a film about the Olympics Spirit. What make it different is its Chinese elements, like some Chinese people, Chinese buildings, Chinese music, etc. This has nothing to do with an evil government. Chinese people and art are innocent, and looked unique and very nice!

When part of the 2002 Soccer World Cup held in Japan, who invaded China in the WW2, killing billions of Chinese people, and Japanese government is still denying it was the truth, most Chinese people didn't lose their passion on that world cup because of the wrongdoing of the Japanese government. That's because the world cup is a game for all soccer lovers in this world... So, I think maybe we should act like a matureadult, rahter than a narrow child crying for killing all of the snake because it looked awful.

So, everybody, wake up! Stop barking with that Mia Farrow. She is just a crazy and ignorant dog, need to read more books and get her logical thinking capability much more developed... My suggestion is: put our middle finger on that Mia Farrow and the evil Chinese government. But not 2008 Beijing Olympics and Spielberg!
