The Price is Right for George H.

George HamiltonTMZ has learned that George Hamilton is the front-runner to replace Bob Barker on the "Price is Right."

We're told that CBS honcho Les Moonves and the show's producers think George is "wonderfully charming" and "could really make the show work."

We'll let you know if and when the perma-tanned TV titan is told to "come on down!"

46. George Hamilton would be a better choice to host The Price Is Right than Mario Lopez.

49. ...he's perfect! and, if you don't think the grandmamas will love him, then you don't know your core audience...

50. LOL @ Bill Clinton... John O'Hurley would do a great job... Rosie? Yuck!... George Hamilton is just gross... Instead of George Hamilton or Mario Lopez, what about George Lopez?! He'd be great!

51. Better give him a physical. He does not look healthy. What about Howard K. Stern for this job (he needs one). And the title of the show is The Price is Right, which is right up his alley.

55. I think they should comb all of the nursing homes in the country and find a suitable replacement for Bob Barker. Providing the new host doesn't wear depends, or a hearing aide, and doesn't break wind uncontrollably. Now that I think of it, maybe all of those qualities might just improve the ratings, OLD PEOPLE WHO FART ROCK!!!

56. I think hes too stuck on himself to be able to effectively mingle and talk with contestants.

57. I think they could be making a mistake. What about one of the other known game show host. What about Chuck Wollery? Or is he under contract somewhere else.

58. #51 -- Give Bob a break! He sometimes listens to contestants who adequetely bow and scrape in his presence.

Let's face it, folks. CBS could put an actual carnival barker in Bob's place and PEOPLE WOULD STILL WATCH! Why? Because the show'll still give every lunkhead in America the chance to "come on down," experience 15 minutes of fame, and win big money and prizes. The show and the audience are the stars!

True, Barker is the ringmaster, and he's a terrific host who'll be missed. But plug another tanned, grey-haired geriatric into the equation and as long as he doesn't speak in tongues or headbutt old women (at least not while sexually harassing the young ones), AMERICA WILL LOVE HIM. It'll be goodbye "I Heart Bob" t-shirts and hello "I Heart Leatherface #2."

People will be $entinmental for about a month, then it's time to kiss the new guy's arse.

59. If you want the ratings for the Price is Right to drop way down then George Hamilton is the person to have. Come on fellas there is someone else that isn't stuck on himself. Please consider someone different. No George, no George!

60. What about Doug Davidson from the Young and the Restless. He did a short stint when the Price is Right was on for a short time as a night version. He would be great, that is if it didn't interfere with his daytime job. He is not stuck on himself like someone else who has been mentioned.
