Rosie Calls O'Reilly an "Imbecile," Murdoch "Big Brother"

Rosie O'Donnell spat back at conservative talk-show pugilist Bill O'Reilly after he called for her firing from ABC last week, comparing him to a character in George Orwell's "1984" who is "a fattish ... man of paralyzing stupidity, a mass of imbecile enthusiasms."

She didn't reserve her fire for O'Reilly, however. On her blog at Rosie.com, Ro accused O'Reilly of being a totalitarian puppet of News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch, as she put it, in her lower-case verse, "like 1984/molding the facts/2 suit the needs/of big brother rupert." And Rosie also revealed that when she and co-host Joy Behar made reference on "The View" to a sex scandal involving O'Reilly, they were told they had to can it about O'Reilly or else "bill o would 'go after' all the hosts" of their show.

Rosie Gets PhysicalWell, Bill O. did go after Ro at least, as TMZ noted last week, calling Rosie "nutty" and "irresponsible" and suggesting that ABC should oust her from the show. Rosie went all literary-nasty on O'Reilly, comparing him to Parsons, a fellow employee of protagonist Winston Smith, whom Orwell says is "one of those completely unquestioning, devoted drudges on whom, more even than on the thought police, the stability of the Party depended."

Response from O'Reilly is awaited.

439. #440 - Oh, you mean the NY Post who recently had one of their Page 6 reporters probed for extortion? I'm sure Rosie is trembling with fear. What are they gonna do, break her involvement in a heterosexual sex scandal? The NY Post, providing fresh proof every day of the myth of a liberal media bias.

442. And who watches O'Reilly!!!! He sounds real sexist anyway--afraid she is getting more of an audience them he is.

I have nothing against Rosie--seems some men do though--The Donald, The Bill and they are such babies about it. When they talk about Rosie they like when I was 3 years old and hiding under my mothers skirt cause I was afraid.

443. Rosie is, of course, one who has an opinion and feels everyone should be the benefit of that opinion. Sometimes, she can be annoying. Nevertheless, I will die for Rosie's right to express herself. In the case of Bill O'Reilly and Rupert Murdock, I agree with her. There is much that is going on in the world which doesn't get much play in the media. For instance, what was the Viet-Nam War about? It sure wasn't about winning. I know! I fought in Viet-Nam and we never pursued the Viet-Cong. Most of what we did was for show. At the time, there was also a vigorous drug operation going on in Southeast Asia. Do you know that a Marine Brigadier General, Smedley Butler, saved FDR from a Fascist Coup in 1934? Never heard of it? That's because he wrote a book called: "War is a Racket." Smedley spoke his mind; like Rosie. Keep ranting Rosie! I'll oppose you on gun control but I'll probably support you on most other things.

446. I totally agree with Rosie. It is incredible to see the amount of slamming against her. Personally, I'm skeptical of anyone who has harsh words for her. I rarely find people on TV that represent my personal point of view. She comes pretty darn close. She is sparking debate and with her 'out there' my voice is a part of it. Go Rosie! I have never been more of a fan of The View until Rosie became a part of the show. I will support her on any format she chooses to participate in. If ABC loses Rosie, they will be doing their audience a real disservice.

447. I loath Rosie, but I defend her right to say what she wishes. It is important to know the agendas of the people who appear on our tv's. Now I have the right not to EVER watch anything the networks present with her in any way involved. In fact, I haven't in ages. IN FACT, I watch the major networks very little, as I learned long ago they are committed to pushing their elitist, two coast, propoganda relentlessy to the rest of the "fly-over" citizens of this large, truly diverse, country. This makes them so totally predictable that I have no need to watch.

448. Rosie who??? Is that stupid bitch still around? Will SOMEBODY PLEASE get her big stupid mouth out of there? That show used to be interesting. Now it's just blah, blah, blah bs. Rosie, just SHUT UP!

449. Rosy-o is the smartest and most eloquent spokes-person the left-wing has. She is showing the world just how informed the socialist party of america is. I think she should stay where she is whith joy, so every one can get a wiff of their political agenda. The view is a collection of self absorbed meglamaniacs, whith no understanding of the world beyond the facade they call a face. As I read the previous comments I am overwhelmed by the ignorance and hatred spewing from the lips of the left-wing faux intelectuals. Where there is the blackness of hatred, the light of the truth can not exist. You can not support our Brave troops, if you are calling their Boss every nasty name in the book! Military parents should support their child in ANY decision their adult child makes. The young members of our Military should be given respect, to make their own decisions as their own person capable of managing themselves. C.M. Mann M.D.

450. If you do not understand that people in Iraq are a danger to the U.S.---- Then you may not be as smart as a fifth grader------ If you believe pelosi, reid,or osama bama------- Then you may not be as smart as a fifth grader-----If you believe the war whith radical Islam is a right wing plot------Then you may be an idiot!
