Rosie Calls O'Reilly an "Imbecile," Murdoch "Big Brother"

Rosie O'Donnell spat back at conservative talk-show pugilist Bill O'Reilly after he called for her firing from ABC last week, comparing him to a character in George Orwell's "1984" who is "a fattish ... man of paralyzing stupidity, a mass of imbecile enthusiasms."

She didn't reserve her fire for O'Reilly, however. On her blog at Rosie.com, Ro accused O'Reilly of being a totalitarian puppet of News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch, as she put it, in her lower-case verse, "like 1984/molding the facts/2 suit the needs/of big brother rupert." And Rosie also revealed that when she and co-host Joy Behar made reference on "The View" to a sex scandal involving O'Reilly, they were told they had to can it about O'Reilly or else "bill o would 'go after' all the hosts" of their show.

Rosie Gets PhysicalWell, Bill O. did go after Ro at least, as TMZ noted last week, calling Rosie "nutty" and "irresponsible" and suggesting that ABC should oust her from the show. Rosie went all literary-nasty on O'Reilly, comparing him to Parsons, a fellow employee of protagonist Winston Smith, whom Orwell says is "one of those completely unquestioning, devoted drudges on whom, more even than on the thought police, the stability of the Party depended."

Response from O'Reilly is awaited.

69. Go here and TELL ABC what you think about Rosie! She's disgusting and rude... to her cohosts AND audience. Because of her, I have lost all respect I had for Barbara Walters, a woman who spent her lifetime building credibility, but who, in my opinion, has about lost it all because of Rosie. Whether you like Bill O or not is an issue outside of Rosie's hateful and obnoxious behaviors. ABC has let The View become "Rosie's View." Why do they continue to allow her to vomit her "agenda" without FACTS? Why is she so ANGRY?????? I fully believe she needs professional mental health intervention! In the meantime, she needs to be relocated OUTSIDE the United States of America so that she can come to learn to appreciate how good she has it as a citizen of our nation!

As for those of you who say "if you don't like her, don't watch." I DO NOT WATCH The View. I quit watching it the day she took a seat there. But her hateful blabbermouth comments are everywhere and can't be avoided!

GO BILL! Although I don't always agree with you, at least you do provide FACTS to back up your information, and in this case, you are right on target. Rosie O'Donnell is repulsive and what comes out of her mouth verges on treason! I'm all for free speech, but FACTUAL free speech! ABC is just as disgusting for allowing Rosie free reign to spout out any old thing she wants to w/out backing it up with F.A.C.T.S.

How STUPID is she to say... "I believe this was the first time fire melted steel!" HEAT melts steel. HEAT comes from fire! Has she never seen a steel factory in operation? How does she think steel is fabricated and molded? It is put into FIRE to HEAT UP so it will soften and can be molded! Sheesh.... every time she opens her mouth she continues to show what an IDIOT she is!

Fortunately, most people understand the difference between social commentary and laughing WITH someone, and ranting diatribes and laughing AT someone. 75. Cindy, #11, those of us who don't like Rosie have stopped watching---she turned me off to "The View". Unfortunately, she continues to be such an incredible, loud, bully, that you can't watch other shows, or turn on your computer, without hearing about something else she has said or done. I would LOVE to stop hearing about, or reading about that bully Rosie. If the press stopped reporting her, and ABC fired her, the world would be a better place for so many people.
