Nic Cage: National Treasure?

With the mindboggling success of "Ghost Rider," the enigma that is Nic Cage's resilient film career continues to roll on -- full weave ahead!

Sporting the latest in receding hairline chic, the Oscar-winner (really?) was snapped with script and Starbucks coffee in hand on the D.C. set of "National Treasure: Book of Secrets," the sequel to his 2004 Da Vinci Code-esque knockoff.

The former hunk is an inspiration to struggling actors everywhere, proving you don't need Brad Pitt's looks to open a movie.

16. And this is news, WHY???

17. You guys are lame and have no life. "Oscar winner?" have you not seen Leaving Las Vegas, Raising Arizona, Adaptation, Moonstruck, etc.? Cage is one of the most versatile actors out there. You spend all this time wasting it on people like Britney Spears, who without a synthesizer, would not even have a career, but bag on guy who actually has talent? How did you guys even get your jobs???

18. To TMZ, it is not a knock off if it came out before the Da Vinci Code. However, it was a good movie. But, Nick has not been able to duplicate his awesome performance in Fast times at Ridgemont High. Good luck Nick!

19. Nick has some tried and true fans out there, even your nasty tirade can't change that. Do I detect a hint of jealousy? Does anyone at TMZ have a 20 year successful film career? I didn't think so.....just looking in through a big camera lens from the outside. Pitty!

23. TMZ is nuts. Nicolas Cage is indeed an Oscar-deserving winner. I am thoroughly entertained by all of his movies. He changed his last name in order to not ride on his uncle's coattails. Take another look at the movie Face Off. Nic's performance is far better than John Travolta's. He played a better "bad guy" and a better "good guy." And what about his body? Check out Con Air. Nic's a spiritual guy who luckily flies under the "Hollywood" radar.

26. Um, DAVE, National Treasure came out AFTER the book Da Vinci Code. You do know it was a book before the movie, right?????

The only reason Nat'l Treasure was made was based on the runaway success of the book.

28. He has the ability to pick interesting scripts. When he's in a movie, I know I'll be entertained even if it isn't a classic.

29. Nicholas Cage is a awesome actor, with depth (unlike Brad Pitt). Just to point out, National Treasure cant' be a knockoff when Da Vinci Code came out 2 years after it.

30. I love Nick Cage and he is a great actor. I prefer Nick to pitt, cruise, clooney and all the rest of those hollywood pretty boys {they think}. In fact they need some new actors in hollywood instead the same old bunch. You go Nick, I love your movies.
