Sanjaya Look-alike Contest -- TV Show Wants You!

16. OK, I've just finished watching AI-Tony Bennett's night, and gosh, Sanjaya was adorable!!!

So, I just now got through voting for 4 of my favorites, Chirs Richardson, Jordin Sparks, Kiki Jones & of course, Sanjaya.

I voted about 100 times for each person & my dialing middle finger is still sore...SEE???

19. So WHO is the company doing this contest? I can not find it anywhere. As for Sanjaya, he does not have the all talent to be the next AI but for those saying he CAN'T sing or entertain- please so you can do better? He has been a joy to watch but I do believe that time will show the true next AI.

21. Maybe Idol should change the way the voting goes. I wouldn't let the audience start voting until the Top 10 are selected by the judges. Then, if there's a Sanjaya-type in the group, the judges have nobody to blame but themselves. I also think the number of votes a person can make should be limited - on Dancing With the Stars, you can have one vote each week per contestant -- if 11 people are still in the contest, you get 11 votes, 10 people, 10 votes, etc. At least that way, people wouldn't be allowed to "stuff the ballot". But, I guess if those teeny-boppers are ready to spend money and buy Sanjaya's albums, then maybe he should be the American Idol - but, definitely NOT because he's the best singer. When you think about it, there's LOTS of American Idols out there who aren't the best singers...I just hope all this stuff doesn't end up ruining my favorite TV Show. I don't know why a Howard K. Stern would want to sabatage a family show that so many good people enjoy. There's always one person who wants to do what he can to ruin something good for everybody else. I don't seem to have any use for ANYBODY named Howard Stern these days....LK

23. I am through with Idol. Last time it was Bucky week after week. Now it is Sanjaya. Frankly, I think it isn't the fans keeping the no talent people in the running. I think it is a setup to rile the fans and mistakingly bring drama to the show. I think it has become a boring and annoying show as a result. I used to love Idol. I don't want to see Melinda Doolittle lose to nonsense. I have hopes that she is discovered already and won't need to win Idol.

24. I think Sanjaya is dumbfounded and sure the heck can't sing. It should of been his sister instead of him. America keeps voting the wrong ones off. Howard Stern is a jerk and should not be on the radio.

26. You HAVE to admit that American Idol is now more worth watching because of all the buzz behind Sanjaya. I'm not going to criticize him nor do I believe he's going to win the whole thing. But i have to honestly say, Sanjaya is the only member of American Idol is memorable, I can't even recall the names of other contestants. He may not have great talant, but hey, William Hung didn't either and he sure got more than his share of 15 minutes of fame.

27. Sangaya needs to go....this is ridicious.....He can't sing! Howard Stern needs to crawl back in the hole he came out of.....he is just jealous of Simon Cowell and the success of American Idol. Come on America...don't let these nuts ruin American Idol for the rest of us that have some common sense.....

28. So what if Sanjaya isn't Elvis. Madonna certainly didn't get famous for her singing, and Howard Stern got famous for selling nothing more than cheap, sick perversion. None of the Idol winners have been anywhere near as good as true professionals, and the only ones who have made a career of winning did so because they are clones of already established singers. At least Sanjaya is selling nothing more than himself, and he is getting votes for it, which I believe is what the show is all about. If you don't like it, start your own show. I hope Sanjaya wins, and I bet if he does, he will be the biggest star Idol has ever turned out, even if it will take a few machines to make his singing tolerable.

30. It doesn't matter who Sanjaya is or for that matter anyone else performing on the show. I watched the show merely twice well in the past and found the theme behind the show ridiculous ! Why ? AI should be about the total package not just singing. A strong blend of attributes like a good demo of courage, valor and fearlessness combined with a high concentration of talent like singing, maybe dancing, maybe demo of genius etc. should constitute idolship. Otherwise the show is a farce of the century. Too bad millions of watchers haven't understood it is an insult to intelligence ! So may I say it is show where a bunch of clowns perform, three clowns judge them and many clowns who have nothing else to do watch the show religiously ! - A. Joe
