Punk pixie Avril Lavigne wants to set the record straight: She didn't bad-mouth Britney Spears.

Lavigne was quoted in The Sun earlier this week saying, "What's happened to Britney is all down to who she is as a person." Only problem -- she didn't say it.

"I didn't say that," Avril told Los Angeles radio duo Valentine and Lisa Foxx this morning. "I haven't even been talking about her. People ask me about it all the time and I go, 'You know what? I don't know her.'"

Oh well, no chick fight there.

16. Avril by far is a true artist who has no succumbed to her stardom. She has presented herself with dignity and pride in her artistry. Britney on the other hand is a true portrait of a star who has thrown her life, her career and her morals down the drain. In short she is a disaster.

19. Avril a classy young lady? Are we smoking a little of the Canadian grass? I wouldn't exactly classify spitting from your SUV onto paparazzi as classy...but hey, what do I know. I do know that Avril is a no talent hack who try’s acting like some bad ass rebel but she’s really just an ass. She talked trash about brit to get some attention and now she is feeling the backlash from the comment.....Avril your are a coke snorting ass...keep getting that publicity you need to sell your god awful records or better yet go back to Canada were the actually like you a little.

20. I think that people want a good chick fight. People see Avril as the anti-britney. Both of them have their own styles of music, and appeal to different audiences. Both are talented in their own way. People should live and let live. They are both nice girls.

22. Britney Spears is an excellent singer and entertainer, but she is surrounded by weak males who seek to take advantage of her for sex and money. Britney needs a strong "Alpha Male" in her life, who will have a more positive influence on her. One who will keep her on the right path (away from drugs, reckless and careless behavior, and from weak male predators. Britney is headed for destruction, but she still has a good fan base, she is still an excellent singer and entertainer, and she still has a good family for support. That means, she can turn her life around and develop into a good mother, well balanced human being, and have a real positive influence on young ladies (fans).
