Lin Wood Confirms -- I'm Talking with Howard K.

Lin Wood, the high-powered lawyer with a specialty in defamation cases, has issued a statement confirming the TMZ report that he is, in fact, in discussions with Howard K. Stern:

Mr. Wood has received numerous inquiries seeking to confirm media reports that he is in discussions with Howard K. Stern concerning possible legal representation of Mr. Stern, both individually and in his capacity as the Executor of the Estate of Anna Nicole Smith. This statement is issued to confirm that such discussions are ongoing and that Mr. Wood expects to issue an additional statement early next week with respect to this matter. At this time, Mr. Wood is not commenting further on his discussions with Mr. Stern.

As TMZ first reported, a retainer agreement has not yet been signed, but we're told Stern and Wood have agreed in principle that the uber-aggressive lawyer would file various lawsuits against certain members of the media.

Wood filed numerous defamation claims against media outlets on behalf of Patsy and John Ramsey, for pointing a guilty finger at his clients.

48. Good for you Howard! I noticed last week the media had been toning down their slanderous statements. Make sure to get Vergie and her attorney, along with Larry Littleboy Birkhead or one or all of his attorneys that called you a murderer in open court, along with the media.

.......and, what is the matter with some of the people that post here? Do you have any common sense? Howard has already said he is getting his money from his parents. He worked for Anna for how many years with no cash payment, only room and board. Now Vergie and Larry, they're just hopin they'll get a payout to pay for their limo's, airfare, attorney fee, hotels, etc. Shame on them!

50. Why is no one asking about Anna's 5 year old son who lives on the indian reservation in Arizona? He is first living relative, whether he was mentioned in the will or not. Dannielynn wasn't mentioned either.

52. About the will..... I think if you are not a resident in the Bahama's you cannot probate the will there. And, did they ever find the original will?? The guy that wrote the will was disbarred two months after he wrote it. A lot of questions will be answered once we confirm who the dad is. You notice when anyone speaks of Howard being the dad, they always say, Howard is the legal dad.. Never do they day bilogical dad.

53. Someone asked in an earlier post, about this pic of HKS. I think he looks messed up, as in most of the pics or video clips I have seen of him. His pupils are always dilated and he always looks under the influence of something to me. Gee....why did he never do anything about Anna's use of drugs???? All together now....

Hire as many atty's as he wants...we all still think the same thing. I will personally think he's more of a loser with every effort he makes not to be.

58. I've watched almost every minute of coverage and O'Quinn is the only one that
I've heard flat out call Howard a murderer.
O'Quinn has probably bated Howard into doing this so that he can get Howard
