Sanjaya MalakarSome serious "American Idol" viewers are still fuming over the fact that Sanjaya Malakar not only remains on the show, but that he wasn't even bottoming out. Now someone has conjured a plan that could help rid the "A.I." stage of any additional hairrific performances ... er, other than the one scheduled for next Tuesday.

At voteAGAINSTtheworst.com, viewers are assigned to contestants for voting purposes -- based on which state you live in -- every state is then assigned to a performer, leaving none dedicated to Sanjaya.

The only way to make this work is for people in these states to actually vote. Unfortunately, since it's been proven that enough people are voting for Sanjaya to keep him on, Fanjayas will have to be converted in order to boot the mildly talented Malakar, whose rendition of "Cheek to Cheek" this week caused Irving Berlin to centrifugally spin in his grave.

17. I love AI but I am to the point where I just don't want to watch because he is just pathetic. He can not sing. He seems like a smart ass. A little too cocky for no talent. It's not fair to the others who really can sing.

19. At this point I hope he wins. Then A.I. will have to deal with promoting him and knowing their show is beyond their control and not credible any longer.

The other contestants will still receive record offers, as it's been proven you can still sell millions of albums and even receive Oscars if you don't win Idol.

22. American Idol has jumped the shark. I think with this lousy promotion of Sanjaya, they have finally done themselves in. The ratings are slipping every week and people who appreciate talent are turning the show off. I'm one of them. Whether it's a gag or not by the producers, the show has changed alot since it began. The talent pool is dry this year on the show and Sanjaya is the worst of that lot. I hope others will tune it out so producers get the message, enough stunts already. It's all about the money, and if they see ratings slipping badly like they are, they can't charge more for advertizing.

When AI changes their calling scheme from "phone the one you like" to vote for the worst one, maybe then I'll believe their serious about what they have. Otherwise, no more watching.

26. Come on, enough Sanjaya bashing already. AI has seen it's fair share of bad singers. In the first season that Nicki chick got all the way to number 3 and Sanjaya is way better than she was.

We can't have the radio filled up with all Areatha, Whitney, and Mariah soundalikes. Music history is filled with singers who aren't exactly the best. Take Paula Abdul for example. She had 6 #1 singles. They were all great. So what if she didn't sing as well as some of her contemporaries. Taylor Dayne can sing rings around Paula and she sold far less records than Paula did at the same time.

27. I haven't been watching and I've been voting for Sanjaya because A.I. is a joke. It's not about the most talented singer, it's about the most popular.

I don't see why Sanjaya can't be a star...so many of them out there have little if no talent (look at all the fools on the other "reality" shows) and manage to be "stars". I'll keep going until I can't go anymore. Sanjaya will have my vote so people will start to realize the problems in the music business. No substance, little style, all flash and shallow crap.
