This morning they were talking on the radio about how the producers have final say-so in who wins, that ultimately they're loving this whole Sanjaya business because it's making what was going to be a lackluster season more interesting, boosting ratings. They're pulling the strings on this little puppet show, they can orchestrate who gets booted and who doesn't. They were also saying that there aren't enough Howard Stern fans or people from the votefortheworst.com website to truly sway the voting -- it would take millions. The perception that American voters elect the winner every year is pretty much an illusion.

47. People seriously need to get out of their house more... maybe even make a friend or two. It's a TV Show and people are out there going on hunger strikes and scheming up these elaborate campaigns to vote for or against some guy on some crappy amateur karaoke show. It's sad.
There are TV Shows I like watching every week but the day I'm so invested in it that I stop eating or start some kind of campaign for my favorite show is the day I realize something has gone wrong in my life at some point and decide to kill myself.

50. TMZ has no sense of humor. It is the idea that SANJAYA MALAKAR is a threat to the "integrity" of American Idol, and to pop culture as a whole, that inspires people to support him. 55. The AI machine won't let him win anyway. Even if this whole scheme to get Sanjaya to the top works, the producers will never allow him to be the winner. They will fix whatever votes they can so that he is knocked out. Maybe for the best ratings and money, FOX will leave him in until the last show, and that's when the fix will be in. Sanjaya will lose and then fade into obscurity, Justin Guarini-style.

I work in the music industry, and everyone knows that American Idol's producers know who they want to win by the time they get to Hollywood...and then the pimp the hell out of them. They do this because they know that they are going to have to produce a record at the end of it all the sells. That's all the music biz is...they don't give you what you want, they tell you what you want and cram it down your throat. I think votefortheworst.com is doing a great service by raising the middle finger the music industry and American Idol - which for the record is the crappiest television program of all time.

59. I agree with Ted's post above that Sanjaya's fingernails were grossly dirty! Yuck---if a part of one's part that is visible to the eye is dirty---how much more the hidden parts. Just to prove that this bamboo stick with the face only-his-mother would love is so obnoxious and is a disgrace to AI and to viewers. If he wins, I can bet it will bring AI down. He has such a w-e-a-k style of singing....it would have been better, if he just recited Cheek to Cheek! Shoo fly Sanjaya---don't bother us!
