Travolta Plane Emergency -- Pulp Fiction?

John TravoltaRemember that supposed emergency plane landing that left John Travolta "shaken" last week in Ireland? Turns out it wasn't really a case of "Stayin' Alive."

The actor just released a statement to TMZ which dismissed the incident. "Thank you for your concern," says Travolta. "There was never an emergency. It was just a fuel stop and when we went to depart, the #2 engine needed a new starter." Reports from England had suggested that one of the engines malfunctioned mid-flight, and that the emergency landing was a close call.

Travolta -- and his Boeing 707 jet -- are both fine, in case you were wondering.

WHY would he need to refuel after a 1000 mile flight, when that aircraft used to be owned by Qantas and fly regularly from Australia?

Travolta also took it on a round the world tour (64,000 km in 80 flying hrs) and flew Rome to New York 4280 miles http://www.qantas.com.au/infodetail/about/downloads/jt.swf

Seems like the publicists are blowing smoke once again!

33. All this talk about who Danielynn has bonded with over the past couple months of her little life.............. People keep saying that Howard K has been the main figure in her life. I submit to you that with all the legal matters that Howard is dealing with, and the amount of time consumed with court, attorneys, and just his daily life...... That In my opinion,,the only real person the baby might have bonded with is the Nanny.

34. It's clear to me that there are a lot of commenters out there who know next to nothing about vintage jet aircraft. A 707 requires a co-pilot and flight engineer to operate. Just in case you can't count, that's a flight crew of three. He just doesn't jump into the plane and fly it around all by himself. It take lots of expensive training and a couple thousand hours of actual fight time to accomplish what he has. If I had his kind of money I would be doing the same thing. He is also an excellent actor. What other actor makes the kind of money he does? As for charitable contributions; how much did you contribute to the Katrina disaster?
