Woman Trips Out During "Deal or No Deal," Sues

Deal or No DealIf you thought watching an episode of "Deal or No Deal" was painful, try being in the audience!

A woman is suing the production company behind the hit game show, after she tripped and fell down a flight of steps during a taping in February, 2006.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Judy Ann Myers claims that during a commercial break, the show's stage manager instructed her to "hurry up and come down" the stairs to perform in an audience dance contest. As Myers hurried to the stage, she claims to have completely wiped out, suffering "great and considerable personal injuries" all over her body. In the suit, Myers blames her bad trip on bad lighting -- and that there were no hand rails on the stairs.

Now Myers is asking a judge for more than $25,000 to heal her wounds. Better call the banker, Howie!

Calls to reps for "Deal or No Deal" were not immediately returned.

63. This is ridiculous! People will do anything these days to make a quick buck. It's pretty sad that a grown woman can't just come to the realization that it was nobodies fault but her own! Even had there been a railing she then would have claimed it contributed to further injuries, the Deal or No Deal company would have been screwed either way. If there was poor lighting she should have taken more time to get to the stage. And lastly if she had only scrapes and bruises and no broken bones requiring x-rays or casts or doctor visits, she doesn't need or deserve the money. Judy Myers needs to grow up and make money the old fashioned way...GET A JOB!!!!!!!

64. After learning of all the vigorous questions and interviews a person must endure to even be a contestant, I guess Judy Myers decided she was gonna be famous by jumping through hoops a totally different way. Karma. She'd better be really hurt, and she better not ever show up on Ballroom Challenge or the X Games, or I'm going to sue her for being a waste of time to read about. OH, MY EYES HURT, THE STORY, IT'S TOO STUPID TO READ!! SOMEBODY CALL A DOCTOR, GET MY LAWYER ON THE PHONE.....SUE....SUE....SUE!

Really, people have kissed off working for their money; now they just strap on a pair of wings and circle like vultures.

68. OMFG what is this? This woman is unbelievable. It's so ridiculous when these ppl can't own up to the fact that something was their fault, and sue some company which was not at fault. Even though the company is usually rich and has money to spare, it is still just a facade for the suer to take some of that money just because they can't handle reality. It's amazing that people actually do this...

69. I agree that Deal or No Deal should be volunteering to pay for the woman's medical bills, but that they should not be held responsible for them. This country's stand on lawsuits is just ridiculous. When a burglar can sue the victim whose house they rob, because they trip over clutter and break a leg... anyone who thinks that is right should do the world a favor and kill themselves.

72. This sounds like a "slip & fall" artist. There are people who make a living doing this. They bank on the insurance "nuisance payoff" amount. And it works. A "slip & fall" artist picks up twenty or thirty thousand a year.

73. For God's sakes, pay her medical bills and get rid of her! $25,000 is chump change to this show.

74. I had a similar problem. One of the commercials was too short, and I had to hurry back to my recliner, causing me to fall and get hurt. Can I sue too? I could sure use a few thousand!

Is this "The American Way"?

75. #8 - I have to agree with you.. $25k is not a lot of money in the scheme of things, and if this woman really wanted to get big bucks, she would have asked for something really crazy, like $4 million, for mental anguish, embarrassment, etc... She's simply asking that her medical bills get paid, that's all... Not a bad thing.. Not like those outlandish lawsuits, like spilling coffee on yourself at McDonald's!!!!
