Woman Trips Out During "Deal or No Deal," Sues

Deal or No DealIf you thought watching an episode of "Deal or No Deal" was painful, try being in the audience!

A woman is suing the production company behind the hit game show, after she tripped and fell down a flight of steps during a taping in February, 2006.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Judy Ann Myers claims that during a commercial break, the show's stage manager instructed her to "hurry up and come down" the stairs to perform in an audience dance contest. As Myers hurried to the stage, she claims to have completely wiped out, suffering "great and considerable personal injuries" all over her body. In the suit, Myers blames her bad trip on bad lighting -- and that there were no hand rails on the stairs.

Now Myers is asking a judge for more than $25,000 to heal her wounds. Better call the banker, Howie!

Calls to reps for "Deal or No Deal" were not immediately returned.

76. OMFG what is this? This woman is unbelievable. It's so ridiculous when these ppl can't own up to the fact that something was their fault, and sue some company which was not at fault. Even though the company is usually rich and has money to spare, it is still just a facade for the suer to take some of that money just because they can't handle reality. It's amazing that people actually do this...

78. I agree that Deal or No Deal should be volunteering to pay for the woman's medical bills, but that they should not be held responsible for them. This country's stand on lawsuits is just ridiculous. When a burglar can sue the victim whose house they rob, because they trip over clutter and break a leg... anyone who thinks that is right should do the world a favor and kill themselves.

80. This sounds like a "slip & fall" artist. There are people who make a living doing this. They bank on the insurance "nuisance payoff" amount. And it works. A "slip & fall" artist picks up twenty or thirty thousand a year.

81. For God's sakes, pay her medical bills and get rid of her! $25,000 is chump change to this show.

82. Whoever said that this is typical of "her kind" needs to stop being a bigot. I didn't see this person's race mentioned anywhere in the article and race has nothing to do with these ridiculously frivilous lawsuits.

Ridiculous:
1. Suing over hot coffee
2. Suing over hot pizza
3. Suing because McDonalds made you fat

Take responsibility for your own stupidity people.

83. I had a similar problem. One of the commercials was too short, and I had to hurry back to my recliner, causing me to fall and get hurt. Can I sue too? I could sure use a few thousand!

Is this "The American Way"?

84. #8 - I have to agree with you.. $25k is not a lot of money in the scheme of things, and if this woman really wanted to get big bucks, she would have asked for something really crazy, like $4 million, for mental anguish, embarrassment, etc... She's simply asking that her medical bills get paid, that's all... Not a bad thing.. Not like those outlandish lawsuits, like spilling coffee on yourself at McDonald's!!!!

87. What's up with being too stupid to walk?

Someone said "hurry up" and it caused her to loose all brain function?

Please someone, anyone, stand close to that lady and scream " jump off a bridge! " and let's be done this this asinine law suit.

88. Those stairs look really dangerous, even for the models carrying their
cases with their high heels on. I'm surprised none of them have fallen.
It's very disappointing to read some of the insentitive remarks by some of
the others. They should try walking fast down those stairs.!!!

90. if the woman was at home watching the show ,got up to pee ,went to the kitchen during a commercial decided to have a snack, put microwave popcorn in,and hurried to get back in time after the commercial, grabbed the popcorn, tripped on her carpet, fell and broke her foot, choked onher first peice of popcorn while rushing back to her t.v. chair ,not to risk a moment of missing the next reaction of the contestant of the bankers next offer, dragged herself up to her laz-e-boy accidently hitting the recliner handle......her cordless GEphone failed to connect when she attempted to call 911 ,she started to choke on an unpopped kernal and attempted to take a drink of her diet coke but the bottom of the can was slightly bent and slid off of the end of the endtable that she bought at Wal-Mart at80% off and seemed to be a little uneven and wobbley all the time . the poor woman managed to sit upright coughed up the deadly kernal of unpopped corn, successfully managed to reach911, went to the nearest emergency room via ambulance and saw the end of deal or no deal while reclining in a chair in the waiting room. the cafeteria sent her a meal that she requested .later her ankle and foot were x-rayed treated and she was sent home with proper care instructions and totally recovered within a reasonable amount of time..the human body is like that with proper care it hasthe ability to heal itself from minor injuries and major catastrophic injury with proper care and time. I THINK it is people like Ms.Myers are the ones who make it so hard for the honest hard working people to obtain our own coverage at an affordable price. everytime these ridiculous lawsuits are setteled the cost of every policyholder with that company for coverage goes up to cover their loss as an american citizen she should be ashamed of herself for even whining about her small misfortune... the scenario i wrote above, did have a purpose.ask yourself this. should the woman seek compensation from orville reddinboker,lazeboy,cocacola,berbercarpet,gephone,local911,saudervillefurniture,walmart, the only person that caused this accident was she herself because thats all that it was an accident and if she is well enough to file charges then she is well enough to get a life i dont think thjat we have young men and women fightig this war for that kind of freedom..freedom to obtain whatever you can from the big companies, and to make up their loss the little man pays the cost!
