"Girls Gone Wild" Creator Arrested at Airport

Joe Francis was arrested this morning at the Panama City airport TMZ has confirmed, as first reported by PEOPLE.

Francis was reportedly on his way to voluntarily turn himself in, but he was recognized by airport police and arrested there before he reached the Marshal's Office. Francis had been ordered to turn himself in for changing the terms of a settlement deal stemming from a 2003 lawsuit in which seven women accused him of victimizing them by filming them in sexual situations while they were on spring break in Panama City.

Francis, creator of the popular "Girls Gone Wild" series, had until noon Thursday to turn himself in, but PEOPLE says that Francis missed the deadline.

UPDATE: A spokesman for Francis told the AP that the GGW mogul will likely stay behind bars until Thursday, when he is scheduled to face off with a federal judge.

This guy is the lowest of the low. He has drugged and raped women. He used hidden cameras.

I do not understand how Hollywood stars (like Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn) justify their association with him. He's buys his friends by offering them the use of his house in Mexico. People, that house was bought with money made exploiting girls!!!

I wish FL would keep him in jail but they won't.

24. As much as I can't stand the exploitation of these girls, they (the girls) are doing it anyway. However, if anyone watched Greta On the Record last night, this the first CIVIL SUIT that anyone has ever been jailed for..........interesting. It sounds like this certain Judge, who btw has dealt with Francis before has a little bit of a vedetta against him.

25. #13 The young females do not make any money from the video tapes. This creep has made millions off victimizing young drunken females. This creep is stalking young females at popular night spots and waiting for them to get drunk, so he can sexually exploit them. It is not against the law to be a slut, but it should be against the law to sexually exploit young drunken females on video tape.

26. I have one word for for this man......dirt! First off I can't imagine being one of the girls in his videos...but for someone to prey on young women who are obviously intoxicated (and possibly doing drugs too) the way he does....that's just disgusting to the nth degree. He tries to say that they can back out of it...but come on, if someone is young and humiliated....they're going to think there's nothing they can do about it. They're going to be too embarrassed/scared to tell their parents what they've done so they can go after him too....and he counts on that. He PREYS on these young women....he is DIRT!

I think it's a hoot too that the "boys gone wild" videos haven't found the market he thought they would either.

28. come on people get a life! he's not to blame....take it from me- im a chick and any girl who gets drunk on camera wants attention, 9 out of 10 girls have been there! look at mardi gras! i dont see anyone calling those guys who throw beads pigs and such!

30. He always gets out of it because the girls sign a release or he doesn't use there faces. Just watch, he will get out of this one too. The girls think it is all fun and games till someone in there family see the tape.
