"Girls Gone Wild" Creator Arrested at Airport

Joe FrancisJoe Francis was arrested this morning at the Panama City airport TMZ has confirmed, as first reported by PEOPLE.

Francis was reportedly on his way to voluntarily turn himself in, but he was recognized by airport police and arrested there before he reached the Marshal's Office. Francis had been ordered to turn himself in for changing the terms of a settlement deal stemming from a 2003 lawsuit in which seven women accused him of victimizing them by filming them in sexual situations while they were on spring break in Panama City.

Francis, creator of the popular "Girls Gone Wild" series, had until noon Thursday to turn himself in, but PEOPLE says that Francis missed the deadline.

UPDATE:
A spokesman for Francis told the AP that the GGW mogul will likely stay behind bars until Thursday, when he is scheduled to face off with a federal judge.

34. I do NOT agree with what he does for a living, as it's disgusting.

That said..... I don't feel he deserved to be arrested, as the charge was for not settling with I believe 7 minors and it's been reported that he DID settle, but the Judge didn't rescind the arrest order as should have been done.

I also don't understand why he had to pay if these girls presents false ID's and said they were of age with proof. Where is there copability?

Again.....I do not agree with what he does......I'm only talking about whether I felt the arrest was fair.

38. Does anyone notice what a lot of young girls are wearing these days? Do you realize their role models are skanks like Fergie? They listen to gangsta rap and gyrate their butts up against males on the dance floor even though most of these raps are degrading to women. All these girls know perfectly well what they are doing. Alcohol is no excuse for this behavior. If it is, they have a problem and need some rehab. Life is all about choices. These girls choose to get drunk on fake ID's, they choose to follow the trends of music and dance, they choose to wear skimpy clothing to attract attention. They are NOT victims!!! They like alcohol and sex and are more uninhibited than ever before thanks to what they choose to listen to, what they choose to see and what they choose to do with their bodies.

39. What a sleaze! Everyone knows that women are not responsible for their actions and need to be protected because they are just too ignorant to function on their own. Maybe he should send the photos to their fathers and get permission before publishing. Oh, wait! Their parents are paying for these spring break trips. Maybe the fathers want to see the videos? If Joe was drunk when he filmed these girls then he shouldn't be held resposible for his actions either. I've got a good solution; why not enforce the laws against public intoxication and public sexual acts, not to mention providing alcohol to minors! However, the local communities make a fortune from spring break activities and it's not likely anything will change.

44. In this matter, "Don't hate the player, hate the game." If you are a female,
you half to think twice when you are on spring break, at the club or at a party. There are camera cell phones, men who put roofies in your drink, and of course money hungry players like the CEO/President of Girls Gone Wild. He has won various cases with females saying that they were violated and betrayed because they were intoxicated or high. You can't hate on him for making his$$$$$$$.

45. This is b/s what people should be concerned about is the parent's who let their underaged daughter's tramp all over town! That is the problem with most people, they want to blame everyone else in the world but themselves. Parents get it together, keep an eye on your kids, stop letting them run the darn streets because your too lazy to parent and have other priorities in life - Get GPS! Bottom line is, a lot of kids now days are out of control. In addition, who were the idiots who let the underaged girls into the place! There are so many fake id's out there you couldn't possibly control this even if you wanted to. There will always be Joe's in the world and 20 times worse at least he is straight out about what he does and not some closet pervert. As for other girls that are being filmed over 18 pretty much most of them consent! Yes, CONSENT. As an adult if you want to get out there, get wasted and strip down for a camera that is your damn problem, don't go crying a river the next day because of your own stupidity!
