MSNBC You Later Imus

ImusMSNBC just announced it will no longer simulcast Don Imus' radio show.

In a statement to TMZ, MSNBC says "Effective immediately, MSNBC will no longer simulcast the "Imus in the Morning" radio program. This decision comes as a result of an ongoing review process, which initially included the announcement of a suspension. It also takes into account many conversations with our own employees. What matters to us most is that the men and women of NBC Universal have confidence in the values we have set for this company. This is the only decision that makes that possible. Once again, we apologize to the women of the Rutgers basketball team and to our viewers. We deeply regret the pain this incident has caused."

An FCC spokesperson has confirmed to TMZ that they have received complaints about Imus' remarks, but downplays media reports that they have launched an investigation.

46. I guess apologizing is not enough. BYE BYE MSNBC , THE TODAY SHOW and HELLO FOX NEWS. Thank god for justice for the duke players. Some good news for a change. There has got to be dirt on Jesse J and Sharpton. Be sure your sins will find you out. It will come out.

47. Yeah, this is sickening. There is such a double-standard. It's okay for almost every black comic to make a living off of saying racist things about whites.. think Chris Rock... And this guy says one thing that is only borderline offensive in comparision and this guys career is finished. WOW.

50. After a lot of reading, and consideration, I've decided that the ime has come to comment on this issue. As I am a college student who happens to be blind, and a productive member of society, I face discrimination everyday. does this mean I should go around crying, and complaining regarding the disgusting, and often offensive statements I hear about my blindness. It is my belief that there are bigger battles to be fought, and this is not one of them. While Mr. Imus's comments were quite deplorable, it is not a matter for national exploitation. What of Howard Stern, the shock jock who was merely fined by the FCC, and if my memory serves me correctly, he never received a punishment as severe as this? This seems a double standard to me.

51. Your comments: I don't agree with what Imus said but I don't agree with all the
policially correct crap we have to adhere to in America. What
happened to freedom of speech? What ever happened to, "sticks and
stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me"! Why don't
we worry about what is really threatening our country -- Islamic
polictical radicals.

53. You can't even pick up a magazine where some Hollywood person, or wanna be holler HO to each other in greeting.. Unfortunate as it may be, it has become a word of greeting. Just last week the one that probably invented the word greeted a fan by yelling HI WHORE to her and the whole crowd laughed. Every Black comedian you listen to fill their entire routine with Black racial slurs, and HO jokes. If you send out this message of acceptence everyday, it will catch on by others. The more you hear it, and especially by Blacks themselves, the less racist it seems. It was in my opinion, an Imus joke. Not intentional meant to hurt any specific person. Seems like equality is getting past up here.

56. I’m so sick of these DOUBLE STANDARDS!!! Yeah I think Imus is a loser and I thought his comments were terrible , but where was all the minority leaders when for example Miss Jones in the morning show MADE FUN of tsunami victims and made many racist remarks. Why is she still on the air...I'm still mad about that?!!
Many radio personalities use derogatory comments on a daily bases... but sense its Don Imus all the minority leaders come out in hordes ... Please radio , broadcast , media ect .. Show fairness. Create guidelines that ALL broadcasters should follow, whether they are black, Chinese, white, Hispanic, ECT ... all people regardless of race should be held to the same standards... DOUBLE standards ARE BS!!!

57. LETS BE FAIR ABOUT THE WHOLE THING. LETS GO AFTER THE RAPPERS ALSO............WHAT THEY SAY...(CAN'T CALL IT SINGING) IS FAR WORSE THAN WHAT IMUS SAID...............

58. Hey, Sharpton and Jackson and the Rutgers team now can be in the spotlight again! About of spineless whiners. Had respect for the team when they won but lost it listening their overly whining about how "scarred" they are. My god people it was four words and if that pisses you off I can't imagine what loser lives you lead.

59. I as a black woman did not want him to lose his job. Sensitivity classes and an apology was enough. I think this is going alitlle to far now. He made a mistake and did apologize. What, was that not enought. I say things about all ppl. (I am both black and white). I don't say them during a live broad cast though. When I see a person in shorts in the winter time I say "white ppl. (to myself"). When we had the "snippers" shooting random ppl a few years ago. I felt in my mind it was white ppl. Did not know any blacks to be snipers in the USA. We had a kid shoot a cop a few months ago here. First thing I thought was a black kid did it. Nope a white kid did. We need to stop sterotyping. Sad to say it is not going to happen because we r of one race. "The Human Race".

60. RACISM- a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

He isnt racist.
Noone even listens to Imus.
