MSNBC You Later Imus

4/11/2007 7:26 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

ImusMSNBC just announced it will no longer simulcast Don Imus' radio show.

In a statement to TMZ, MSNBC says "Effective immediately, MSNBC will no longer simulcast the "Imus in the Morning" radio program. This decision comes as a result of an ongoing review process, which initially included the announcement of a suspension. It also takes into account many conversations with our own employees. What matters to us most is that the men and women of NBC Universal have confidence in the values we have set for this company. This is the only decision that makes that possible. Once again, we apologize to the women of the Rutgers basketball team and to our viewers. We deeply regret the pain this incident has caused."

An FCC spokesperson has confirmed to TMZ that they have received complaints about Imus' remarks, but downplays media reports that they have launched an investigation.

Good, I don't like him anyway, never did. Too bad he can't take those bigots Jesse Jackson and Sharpton with them. It's only racist when it is said against blacks. Those too losers are racist against whites, and nothing is ever done about it. If you ask me, those 2 give Blacks a bad name.

Sharpton and Jackson should apologize to black people in this country. All they do is USE their own people to inflate their egos. Black folks - Wake Up!

Why isn't the guy sitting with him (producer, think), not reprimanded. He used the word "ho" before Imus. Imus carried on with the guy's comments. Double standard!!! Rap artists can spew their vulgarity, and hatred of women, yet, a white man will get the boot every time. Where's Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson? Ohhhh, they are helping to sell the cd's, of course.

Imus is awesome!

I acknowledge that Don Imus made a grave mistake, but he is not a racist. If he were he would not have supported Harold Ford Jr. in his Senate race. He was also extremely upset when Mr. Ford lost the election. Anyone (with half a brain)who watched or listened to the Imus show would know it was a very bad stab at trying to be funny, Bernard, Imus and the others all talk to each other awful too. Since MSNBC states his show is terminated immediately, I suppose his charity drive scheduled for tomorrow and Friday will not be broadcast. The real losers here are MSNBC and the advertisers who pulled out. They sure lost my business. The African Americans probably also have lost. Rev. Sharpton and Jackson have won another of their undying battles to create and promote racial tension in America.

Ok, Don Imus went over the top AGAIN!! It certainly was not the first time in his long career and honestly, although I do feel that he should not have said the things he did and perhaps letting him go from MSNBC was a good choice, but that solidifies the double standards of the media. Now, WHEN IS ROSIE O'DONNELL GOING TO BE FIRED????????
She has made fun of asians with her "ching, ching , chong" comments, commented that christians are fanatics akin to terrorists. She is always making insulting remarks about peole /organizations and really attacks anyone viciously not agreeing with her opinion., regardless of how stupid and uniformed her opinions are. If Don Imus is being fired for his insensitive comments, why not the puke Rosie???? DOUBLE STANDARD!

Why hasn't anything happened, such as advertisers pulling out, when Rush Limbaugh said Michael J. Fox was over exaggerating his Parkinson's symptoms, when Bill O'Reilly said Shawn Hornbeck preferred living with a kidnapper than his parents, when Ann Coulter said 911 widows liked the publicity?????????????????????????

96 Jennifer: I don't think you quite get it. First of all the basketball team has both white and black players...race is not the issue here. He is an affront to women. To call accomplished, educated and highly respected women whores is an insult to all women and very degrading. I am surprised as a woman (although most intelligent men are just as outraged) you do not find his words offensive and demeaning. You do not go on the airwaves and degrade people like that. I wonder how Imus would feel having his wife and daughter called whores? It is not acceptable no matter what anyone's skin color, ethnicity or religion is. That basketball team have far more class than Imus and are showing tremendous dignity in the midst of all this slander.

Y'know it must have been a tough decision for the producers because he was joking. I guarantee everyone reading this article has said something that if it had been publicly announced, you would have been deeply ashamed, even if you didn't mean it. But kudos to NBC for setting an example. If we let this slide, where do we cross the line???
