Sanjaya - Onward to Victory!

Sanjaya Malakar Whether or not you agree with Howard Stern and votefortheworst.com's quest to make Sanjaya the next "American Idol," one thing is for sure -- in Sanskrit his name literally means "victory." Go Sanjy!

Sanjaya is also a character in the Hindu epic story Mahabharata. And according to the bastion of accuracy that is wikipedia.org, the Sanjaya character "is known to be brutally frank in his recital of the day's battle events and his own opinions." TMZ may not be experts on Indian tales, but the "brutal" and "recital" parts couldn't be any more accurate about our furry little Malakar!

America breathlessly awaits (or is that asphyxiation?) seeing if Sanjaya gets one step closer to fulfilling his victorious destiny on tonight's J.Lo infused elimination show.

Not only his name means Victory, but all this "Universe" talk indicates he is AVATARA, who descended from his own Universe to attract conditioned souls ! ;)

26. Sanjaya doesn't mean victory in sanskrit, I guess you got the info from wikipedia, but it's wrong. Jaya means victory or conquering or similar words, San means to bestow or gain or aquire repeatedly. Sanskrit words have different meanings depending on the context and grammar. So Sanjaya can mean a person who conquers or is victorious or who gives victory. In the Hindu epic Mahabharata Sanjaya is a mystic who can mystically see the dialogue happening between Arjuna and Krishna which took place on the battlefield of Kurukshetra right before the start of the climactic battle. Sanjaya relates that dialogue to the leader of Arjuna's enemy who was blind. That dialogue spoken by Sanjaya is known as the Bhagavad Gita, kinda like the bible of Hinduism.

Little known Sanjaya Malakar factoid, his father is an initiated brahmin into the Hare Krishna sect..
