"Idol" Reject Is Trying to Screw the Show

Paris Bennett votes for Sanjaya Malakar -- and she hopes it'll take down "American Idol."

Last season's petite powerhouse phoned into the "Tone E Fly Morning Show" in Minneapolis today, and called "Idol" "a joke," and said she and a few other contestants are using the Web site VotefortheWorst.com to screw with the results.

"We want to see him [Sanjaya] win because it'll kind of prove that 'American Idol' is kind of losing its taste," says Bennett, "it kinda isn't going for talent anymore and more for popularity."

At least she isn't bitter.

61. Paris, do not blame American Idol for you loss. It was the American people who voted you off the show. Do not blame A.I. because you you have REJECTED by the recording industry.

I am VERY disappointed in you. And you think, I actually liked you.

Don't be a party to messing up someone's future because you are feeling liking a loser.

Maybe if you had MORE personality and not acted like a 60 year old woman, you would have had some success.

62. Not only are you a sore loser but you are also an irritating whiner. Please wipe some of that grease off your face....there's enough to fry a chicken with it.............gross!

63. Snotty little brat! I hope America remembers this when it comes time to buy her CDs. You shouldn't bite the hand that tried to feed you.

64. Paris Bennet was lucky to not get voted off before Kelly Pickler.
American Idol has always been a popularity contest, just like high school.
In most cases, the best singer has won. But they (Kelly, Carrie and Fantasia) simply had the best personalities too.
She is really gonna be sorry that she burned that bridge!

65. Paris had a very strange speaking voice. She reminded me of Butterfly McQueen, who played "Prissy" in Gone With The Wind. I could always picture her (Paris) running around crying...."I don't know nothin' about birthin' no babies". Also, Paris is just being a whiny crybaby because she was voted off. Paris.........go eat some more sour grapes and dry those lil tears. Waaaaaaaaah!!! Oh hell, who cares?? Go ahead and cry, Crybaby

66. Don't worry Sanjaya won't win. But a lot of people are watching just to see if somehow he could. The rest of the cast is boring, even though he is by far the worst when he's gone is when most people will stop watching. Melinda is the best, hands down. This show is rigged anyway.

68. Well Paris,
Sanjaya is a young person just as yourself and it is not nice of you to say such bad things aout him. I am a grandmother and if your mother or grandmother read some of the things people are saying about you regarding your call to the radio station, then they will feel your hurt as well as they did when you were voted off AI. You are in the spotlight now and you HAVE to watch what YOU say. Sanjaya has not done anything to you to feel he is the worst singer on AI. Please remember when you had thought of giving up singing before you decided to aduition for AI. Please don't be a part of making this young man "give-up" also.

69. Paris is trying to prove Idol is a joke??? The people voting "for the worst" are the ones trying to make it a JOKE!!!

Posted at 3:54PM on Apr 13th 2007 by What a Joke

70. Paris: glad to know what a IDIOT you are so that I will never buy any CD that you may come up with! You're not making IDOL look bad; you're making PARIS look bad.

71. Paris - Not playing nice after they treated her so well and gave her the chance of a lifetime....sour grapes....not gracious or nice and adds up to bad KARMA, She should try being gareful and appreciative instead of mean and spiteful.

72. Paris obviously had loads of visible talent, no question. She kind of reminded me of Leslie Gore, a small in stature and high-ranged-almost squeeky- but-perfectly pitched singer in the 60's. Kind of a specialty act or sound. I think Paris ultimately lost as her particular sound lacked the broad appeal necessary to secure the most votes, as good as she was.

I understand her disappointment, and she IS very young, but a sense of entitlement and a refusal to acknowledge the equal talent of her idol mates shows immaturity and self-centredness and a slightly deluded ego, and only age and experience will temper those into wisdom, acceptance, and magnanimity. An attitude of benevolant altruism towards other artists gets a singer much farther in a career, plus stuffs back that nasty green eyed monster back where it rightly belongs. There's enough room in the world for many singing stars, and Paris needs to learn how lucky she is to have raised her profile in such a mighty way with Idol, and run with it. Forgive the very young, and hope they overcome and prevail.

Racial comments have no part in this; any young singer could react in such a way. Don't lower the level of discussion by introducing a kitchen sink where it doesn't belong.

73. Such a bitter, bitter person.

74. Does anyone else think she looks like Gary Coleman's little sister? Maybe it 's just her nasty attitude! Hmmm

75. I would also like to add that the type of ego good singers can display is often the fuel that gets them where they need to go. Artists experience a lot of rejection, and this kind of ego is sometimes necessary to enable them to keep floating until they achieve some success. It's almost a survival thing, so little Paris will learn humility regardless, as life packs a punch.
