Paula Not So Sweet at 30,000 Feet

"American Idol" good cop Paula Abdul threw a fit and reportedly demanded first-class treatment on a recent airplane trip –- only problem was, there wasn't any first-class treatment to give.

The "Idol" judge, according to Star (via MSNBC), tried to play the "I'm famous" card to get pre-boarding on a recent flight from San Jose to Burbank, Calif. But the airline she was flying – Southwest – doesn't do first-class passage, so Abdul was left to board just like everyone else. When she did finally get on, Paula tried to save the seat next to hers – for herself – but had to give it up.

Watching her diva-rrific behavior, one fellow passenger was prompted to quip, "You're no Sanjaya!" Abdul's rep had no comment.

Guy to Madonna: "Get Your Hands Dirty!"

Madonna might be smiling it up for the cameras on her current trip to Malawi, but her husband Guy Ritchie thinks the trip has "disaster written all over it," according to a British tab. The Material Mom took adopted son David Banda back to the orphanage from which she plucked him last year, a move that Ritchie labelled "tasteless," according to the Daily Mail, and also didn't think it was such a great idea to go back to Africa with a phalanx of chauffeur-driven cars. In fact, he had some PR advice for his wife: "If you do go, then at least make sure you get your hands dirty this time." Meanwhile, schoolkids helped Madge out by pelting reporters' cars with rocks to keep them away from the Queen of Pop and her entourage.

Gere Charged with Obscenity in India

Richard Gere has become the target of three legal complaints in Indian courts after he kissed native actress Shilpa Shetty in public, as TMZ showed you Monday. Lawyers accused Gere and Shetty of committing "an obscene act" in a public place, says the AP, an act that shocked the conservative sensibilities of the Indian population. Residents of several Indian cities burned effigies of Gere after he took Shetty into his arms and kissed her several times (on the cheek) during an AIDS awareness event in Mumbai.

Party Favors: Suri Cruise Turns One! ... Are Scientologists Swarming at Grieving Virginia Tech? ... Robin Roberts on Imus: "Very Painful"

Before Dannielynn, there was Suri – and, believe it or not, the Cruisebaby celebrates her first birthday today. Gatecrasher says she'll be celebrating in Shreveport, LA, where mommy Katie is filming her latest movie. ... The Church of Scientology has already sent "ministers" to Virginia Tech to counsel the grief-stricken students there, report Rush & Molloy, but some critics are alleging that the Church is really more on a mission to convert than console. ... ABC's Robin Roberts weighs in on a multitude of topics, including Don Imus, with TheSportsInterview.com. Of the deposed Don, Roberts says, "It was just inexcusable and so painful for Rutgers women in particular, but for every woman athlete in general. It was very painful."

46. If this for really comments by formal idol people and other judges. We have a war going this is senseless to be making such insesetive comments to Paula. You don't realize how many people are inspired by idol like myself and the image everyone portrays on that show. If Paul is have troubles don't tease. Do something to help the situation instead of letting. If she needs help try intervention not encourage her to drink more. If she is a social drinker you make her look like a lush. Either way keep the peace. As a mom a seriously wounded solider and recoverying alcohlic for over 16 years. I know what I am saying. After the shooting in the past weeks every needs more encouragement and a leg up to stand not indifference. This seems quite petty. I am about be in a way of inspiring people. I hope I do it with grace and dignity. However if I fall I hope my friends and relatives will give me a hand and not be indiferent or rather uncool about. Everyone is human. If Paula has a problem she needs to seek help in her own time and space. But as friends. Don't make her out to be a horrible role-model. If she is headed for a crash and burn she can do that quite well. I realized after my own experiences. If we focus on the past or an event in our lives too long or hard no matter how trivial it seems we can do more harm then. Her drinking event was in the past. Leave it there. Look else where to make comments. I hope you will use your time more wisely next time. I'm sure all better things. If the comments were posted by imposters. It seems like a cruel hox to make someone I have admired for a while and hope to in the future. Even if she's not perfect! She still has inspired me in many ways.

47. I have another small comment on the scientology story. As long as the council is licenced fully in their state and not some body just acting as councils. I see no problem with them helping however maybe someone should limit the number as to seem more neutral and not so much in the way or on another agenda to exploit the students. How much harm can a few bad apples do. Something they can spoil the bunch. I think the students are stronger than they look and free offers of help don't come along ever day. If a few strings are attached. The battle between good and evil is waged every. The parents and community need to build the students up to reconize the truth and have discernment to weed out the rest. We need to unite more and if you need food or shelter of help in an emergency are you going to ask what someone's beliefs are right away. If they get stuck or start to be intrucsive just cut them off then. Otherwise I think help is not often taken no matter who offers it. As long as some guidelines are set by someone and those boundries are not broken.

48. It's time Paula is voted out with Sanjy. Can't Simon see she is on burnout? Be a friend and get her in rehab so the rest of us don't have to watch her going down anymore.

And speaking of Simon,,,,, It's time you shape up or ship out too. We are all getting sick of your HORRENDOUS mean comments.

On Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cruise....How about everyone give them a break. I think enough crap has been slung their way. Did you ever think that "just maybe" they are happy?

49. I have been a big fan of Paula Abdul for a very long time. Besides being very beautiful, she is a much talented dancer and singer.

Now, with this South West Airlines episode, I have lost my feelings for her. What a jerk, dosen't she know that her fans also have feelings and emotions, just like herself?

Years ago, Barbara Streisand pulled a simular stint at Macy's in New York, by demanding that she be allowed to get in the front of a long line of customers.

More recently, John Kerry did a simular number at an Clam Shack in Massachusetts, telling the owner, "Don't you know who I am?"

I don't give a damn how gifted these people are, once they start treating their fans as mere serfs, then they lose my support.
