Phil Stacey -- The New Sanjaya?

Phil Stacey: Click to watchNow that Sanjaya Malakar has been given the boot -- pasty Phil Stacey now has a web site's dubious honor as the "worst" on "American Idol."

VotefortheWorst.com, a web site which asks for visitors to intentionally vote for a bad "Idol" contestant, has named the bald soprano its new poster boy. The site has been credited for keeping vocal weakling Sanjaya on the show long enough to make the top seven, but Sanjy says that "creative haters" had nothing to do with his semi-success.

The web site's special message to Phil: "We love you even if you can't be exposed to direct light."

46. i, for one, am sick and tired of people picking on phil. obviously, all the jordin sparks fans out there didn't seem to notice how rude she was on elimination night when she got put in the group with phil and chris because she thought she was in the "loser" group. how dare she roll her eyes and yap to someone how she was shocked. well, she got all happy again when she found out differently. how dare she act that way. oh, i forgot, it was her 17 year old mentality rearing its ugly head. who the hell wants a spoiled brat for an american idol? who cares if her dad was a football player. who ever heard of him anyway? shame on her....she should just go back to being a plus sized model. at least phil never acted that way. i have never seen a contestant be so disrespectable to the others. just think how she will act if the judges don't praise her one time.

48. Sanjaya is every bit star material, as far as I am concerned they all deserve to be stars for appearing on such a vile show!!
S-jay is the new Prince, I can't wait until he releases his first CD or stars in his first movie!! I will be the 1st in the queue, and for those who say that "I'll be the only one in the queue" I will tell you now that it is not true... Fine you don't have to like him if you don't want to but you don't know what you will be missing!!

52. By FAR I agree that Chris Richardson is now the WORST singer. He should never have made it past Hollywood. When my cats are howling for their dinner...they sound better than Chris. The boy CAN NOT sing! OK...he can sing....but NOT at ALL well. He has NO business in this competition. Hang up your mic Chris....go home and set your sights on another career.

53. Chris Richardson is garbage. I always thought that vocally, he's worst than sanjaya. Blake's not that great a singer either. he's only popular because he's cute and he remixes the songs he sings.

54. I've loved Chris and his "NASALLY" singing since his first audition. His potential to be a star his very big. For those who doubt his abilities, please have listen to this small clip with a very well known producer. I for one would love to hear this song in its entirety. If you don't like, well his infamous singing style is not your cup a of tea. I've got to throw this in: Blake was interesting as a beatboxer with cool dance moves, but without that, he's not such great singer. He, IMO, has become so overrated it's hilarious. Oh well, to each her/his own.

It's him for sure:

57. Phil,

I know that Randy and the other judges are trying to tell you that country is your thing, but I really don’t believe it. You’re a pop singer who can sing great country songs. The reason the judges really enjoyed “Where the Blacktop Ends” last week is because you were so comfortable in presenting it that it allowed you to sing it with feeling and its casual feel (esp. with the audience) allowed you to perform at your best. For somewhat the same reasons “The Change” also presented that feel (although a little less so) that the judges clearly wanted more of.

In my opinion, both performances were great and the common element that made them great was that you were comfortable with the songs and comfortable in your “nothing to lose” presentation of them. However, I really like your voice tone and style and to me it is closest to that of Paul Carrick (http://www.carrack-uk.com/), who sang lead on “Tempted” (and many other great tunes) with the Squeeze and is probably best known for his lead vocals with Mike and Mechanics, although he’s had a reasonably successful (at least in the respect of great recordings) in his solo career. You’ve got the same (“blue-eyed” soul) lilt in your voice and that characteristic influxuation makes for dramatic live presentations of the music. I think if you will take the time to listen to him you may recognize that sense of style that he has in your sound. I would go towards that as a sound to emulate (and don’t worry too much about the country comments) and I don’t think you could go to far wrong with it.

I think the judges were trying to say on this last one that they wanted a little more twang in the song to give it that country feel. I don’t think you have to do that, but could better continue to be yourself and present great songs in a popular style that you are most comfortable with. With that ease and confidence it really doesn’t matter what genre the song may be from, instead the real you comes out we’re happy and enjoying it with you.

Sincerely,

Nathan in Colorado Springs, CO

P.S. Stay cool and do your best!

58. fuglyhasbeen, I watch AI because it's fun and entertaining. Why do you post messages about a show you don't like or watch?? That's completely illogical.

59. I think phil has a great voice and don't know why he shaves his head... he has an adorable look ,if he had hair on his head ,he would be a knockout and everyone would vote for him... he has a great smile and amazing eyes... but he ruins it with is bald eagle head...

60. Phil is not the worse by FAR!!! I love his voice and hope he continues to do well. I believe that Lakshia will be next to go. Jordin by far is the best and then Melinda.
