Lets Get This Party Started
Madonna Keeps Baby David from African Dad

Madonna wouldn't let her adopted baby David see his biological father on Saturday, even though she'd reportedly agreed to a meeting.

A source at the Home of Hope orphanage in Malawi, where Madonna first met David, tells People that David's dad, Yohane Banda, had expected to see his 1-year-old son on Saturday for a visit, but was told on his way that the meeting was off, with no reason given. Madonna's rep said she didn't know whether the meeting had actually taken place.

Looks like the Material Mama got a little of her own back: She was supposed to see Nelson Mandela in South Africa after her visit to Malawi, but Mandela's people told her last week that Mandela was too busy to see her.

J.Lo Gets $50,000 a Minute for Bday Party

Jennifer Lopez is saying da to a Russian tycoon's big bucks, after he agreed to pay her $2 million for a 40-minute gig for his wife's 30th birthday party – or $50,000 a minute, according to the London Daily Mail. Andrei Melnichenko, a 35-year-old banker, is jetting J.Lo to London to play for his wife's bash, and is shelling out $1.2 mil in appeareance fees and $800K in expenses – but that's just under-the-cushions money for Melnichenko, who's net worth is a reported $5 billion.

Sheryl Crow Can't Touch Karl Rove

The jabs flew at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday night – but not at the dais, apparently. According to several sources, including Rush & Molloy, Sheryl Crow and White House advisor Karl Rove got into it when Crow tried to talk green policy along with Laurie David. And when Sheryl reached out to touch Rove's arm, recalls David, Rove recoiled, "Don't touch me." Crow crowed, "You can't speak to us like that, you work for us," to which Rove, ever the clever one, shot back: "I don't work for you, I work for the American people." Rove's recollection, in the Washington Post, was that David "came over to insult me and she succeeded."

Party Favors: New York Gov. Hearts Sanjaya ... Spider-Man 3: $500 Million Movie? ... Century City Food Court – The New Deal-Making Hotspot?

Sanjaya Malakar was the star attraction at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, and no pol was more smitten than New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, who wedged his way through the tight security around Sanjy to get an autograph – for his daughters – and, he joked, a hair transplant, say R&M. ... "Spider-Man 3" could be the most expensive movie ever made, and a report in Radar magazine claims that the budget could be more than $500 million. ... The Los Angeles Times reports that bigshot agents in Tinseltown are power-lunching over plastic trays of Fuddruckers in the food court at the Century City mall, rather than in the red banquettes of The Grill, now that ICM and CAA have moved into the neighborhood.

16. Madonna's "Mother Teresa" act makes me wonder about her. I remember her back when...

17. Hey #6, - Rori - how old are you anyway? Sheryl Crow didn't have the HPV cancer you fool. She had breast cancer.

19. I especially loved when Sheryl Crow came to my college and suggested we have a moment of silence for "Georgia" Tech.

20. Hey Karl,

Sheryl is part of the American people! Just like #19 said.

21. Well first...Mad Donna is a hard bitch...one of my sisters worked on a movie with her and the stories are really sad. The most self centered person not in Hollyweird. Nelson snubs her so she gets back by snubbing the child's father....she has a lot of class, but it's all low.

Poor Cheryl she is just victim of celebretosis, because they have received acclaim for something that gives them a platform for their political opinions, unfortunately it does but it does not make their opinion valid or even many times informed....'just save the earth from the Republicans and don't concern yourself with my $5,000/mo home utility bills."

How about we all do what we can do to improve what we touch and mind our own business a little more.

22. Didn't Madonna promise that guy she wouldn't keep the baby from him? She knows she's WRONG for that....and it's sad.

24. I LOVE YOU SANJAYA!!

25. Madonna defines the word bitch. How her husband stays with that old hag is anyone's guess. David will only grow to resent her for keeping him away from his father.

Rove is a lying POS-always has been.

What is J.Lo's talent again???

26. The sense of entitlement Mrs. Ritchie seems to feel she has is pathetic. Why take that baby halfway around the world with the father thinking he is going to be seeing his child and then not have the meeting? Shame on her. Shame on her big time. Lady, it's a child not a friggin' publicity prop.

27. What happened to proper etiquette? You would think a formal dinner would still be the one place everyone would practice manners and not overstep politeness, into the realm of crass and rude. I say to all the people out there who are trying to make a change: " Your message falls on deaf ears here due to blatant rudeness."

28. uhhhh #24, I made no comment that said that Cheryl had no class, personally I have no information to substantiate that statement, I do have personal knowledge that Mad Donna is a low class albeit rich C.

29. Care to do some investigating into the lifestyle habits of Sheryl Crow? Without a doubt, she uses up more energy and more "stuff" than 99% of the planet but now she's a self-proclaimed "eco-warrior". Oh pleeze, celebs, just give it a rest.

30. I was extremely disappointed in J.Lo when I heard her sing on American Idol--so can't imagine anyone paying that kind of money to see her. Take that money and feed the hungry!! Madonna--can't handle the fake accent and her intense love for herself; and Sanjaya--his fifteen minutes are up---I hope we now don't have to watch politicians act like fools trying to get his autograph. He was famous for having no talent--enough already!!!
