Lets Get This Party Started
Madonna Keeps Baby David from African Dad

Madonna wouldn't let her adopted baby David see his biological father on Saturday, even though she'd reportedly agreed to a meeting.

A source at the Home of Hope orphanage in Malawi, where Madonna first met David, tells People that David's dad, Yohane Banda, had expected to see his 1-year-old son on Saturday for a visit, but was told on his way that the meeting was off, with no reason given. Madonna's rep said she didn't know whether the meeting had actually taken place.

Looks like the Material Mama got a little of her own back: She was supposed to see Nelson Mandela in South Africa after her visit to Malawi, but Mandela's people told her last week that Mandela was too busy to see her.

J.Lo Gets $50,000 a Minute for Bday Party

Jennifer Lopez is saying da to a Russian tycoon's big bucks, after he agreed to pay her $2 million for a 40-minute gig for his wife's 30th birthday party – or $50,000 a minute, according to the London Daily Mail. Andrei Melnichenko, a 35-year-old banker, is jetting J.Lo to London to play for his wife's bash, and is shelling out $1.2 mil in appeareance fees and $800K in expenses – but that's just under-the-cushions money for Melnichenko, who's net worth is a reported $5 billion.

Sheryl Crow Can't Touch Karl Rove

The jabs flew at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday night – but not at the dais, apparently. According to several sources, including Rush & Molloy, Sheryl Crow and White House advisor Karl Rove got into it when Crow tried to talk green policy along with Laurie David. And when Sheryl reached out to touch Rove's arm, recalls David, Rove recoiled, "Don't touch me." Crow crowed, "You can't speak to us like that, you work for us," to which Rove, ever the clever one, shot back: "I don't work for you, I work for the American people." Rove's recollection, in the Washington Post, was that David "came over to insult me and she succeeded."

Party Favors: New York Gov. Hearts Sanjaya ... Spider-Man 3: $500 Million Movie? ... Century City Food Court – The New Deal-Making Hotspot?

Sanjaya Malakar was the star attraction at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, and no pol was more smitten than New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, who wedged his way through the tight security around Sanjy to get an autograph – for his daughters – and, he joked, a hair transplant, say R&M. ... "Spider-Man 3" could be the most expensive movie ever made, and a report in Radar magazine claims that the budget could be more than $500 million. ... The Los Angeles Times reports that bigshot agents in Tinseltown are power-lunching over plastic trays of Fuddruckers in the food court at the Century City mall, rather than in the red banquettes of The Grill, now that ICM and CAA have moved into the neighborhood.

61. I agree with #54, Just Me. That kid Madonna adopted, his father put him in an orphanage, then got remarried, and just now had ANOTHER FRIGGIN BABY. If a person can't afford to have babies or to care for them, why the heck can't they just keep their pants on??? As far as I'm concerned the kid is better off not knowing his bio father.

62. If and when I start seeing pictures of Al Gore, John Edwards, Sheryl Crowe, Laurie David, Leonardo DiCaprio, and the rest of the political and Hollywood looney-tunes living side by side in a housing development of two-room cabins without electricity and running water, and with outhouses for bathrooms (with a Sears catalog instead of toilet paper), then maybe I'll start believing that they believe what they're saying.

If they're gonna talk the talk, they all need to walk the walk. But I don't think any of them will give up their gas-guzzling SUVs, private jets and large mansions, they'll just preach to us ordinary folks about their "cause of the year." I guess we'll see them at this year's awards shows smugly wearing green ribbons on their lapels. What was last year's color? Red? Pink? White? It's so hard to keep track, and it's even harder to take any of them seriously!!

Contrary to their highly over-rated opinion of themselves, being a celebrity doesn't mean that they're intelligent, it just means that the public likes to hear them sing or watch them act. So please give us all a break and don't preach unless you're practicing what you preach!

66. NOTE TO YOHANE BANDA: When you give your kid up for adoption you give him away permanently, you give up all your rights to have future contact with him. This was explained to you, Madonna does not have to let you see your kid and you cannot force her to. You get no sympathy for being excluded from the life of the child you gave away.

67. I surprised Karl Rove didn't smell that skank Sheryl Crowe coming across the room. The single sheet toilet paper usage explains everything about her. My guess is they had to throw his suit out after she contaminated it with her germy hands.

68. Brother Ron,
Guitar strings are now made with nylon and/or metal. The wood used for making guitars is no longer from endangered trees. Sheryl Crowe does not have STD's. You are filled with hate. Where is your true spirit of love? You can disagree with one's actions and philosophy without having to spread falsehoods. This will come back on you.

69. POOR, POOR MADONNA. She's been in the public eye for several decades and now she just can't seem to let go gracefully. Maybe that's why she's trying so hard to generate ANY type of publicity for herself -- even going so far as to sacrifice her glamorous image. Aging, desperate publicity whores like Madonna and Sharon Stone need to know when their time is up. Show some dignity and gracefully fade away.

70. Re: Sheryl Crow. Who would want to be touched by someone who uses a tiny square of toilet paper on her backside?

71. RE Sheryl Crow - I am very, very concerned about Climate Change...........but this crazy egomaniac is doing a great disservice to the movement. She sounds like an idiot!!!!! The only reason that she made a scene with Karl Rove and made her ridiculous comments on toilet paper is to feed her completely unjustified EGOMANIA! Please let the serious environmentalists do the talking. Don't feed the wacko right with your ego boosting rants!!!!!!!!

74. Karl Rove and the BushClan dont talk directly to "The American People" ever unless they are "Loyal Bushies" or the "haves & the have more's" nobody should be surprised at how he acted.

The correspondence dinner has been a snooze fest because they cant find Hollywood types who wont offend the emperor and tell him i can see yer noodle :P
