One other thing other than medical reasons unless the birthparents requested an open adoption the adoptee cannot get any information, that is why that are called sealed records it is to protect the birthparent usually mother in most cases, unfortunately most birthfathers go unnotified that their child has been adopted, the public notice is not nationwide, nor statewide, it usually is only done in the city where the adoption will take place. Also for Brad to legally adopt Angelina's children depending on what state you live in it is a very rigorous process, it can take up to a year, the United States has very strict adoption laws not anyone even a movie star can adopt, it includes home studys and in some cases psycholgical exams as well. Angelina herself would be subjected to the same if she adopted a child here, that maybe the reason why she hasn't.

79. My cousin cannot have kids, been going through years of in vitro.
she and her hubby were going to adopt somewhere overseas,it was more money
than anyone could imagine,plus,she and hubby had to live there 18 months.
i would love to know why stars do not have to do the same?
Adoption is not an option for all couples,lot's of money needed and time.
in the states it can take years to adopt.

81. I'm sorry to hear that Kali,
it is a very difficult process to adopt, I believe that being a foster parent is actually easier, in some states {NY} a foster parent can adopt their foster child and the process is less difficult because the child has already been living with that person or persons, maybe that can be an option, there are a lot of needy children that need a home before they age out of the system, most people only want to adopt babies that is why it is harder, I do hope that their desire to be parents is fufilled.

84. Well Jolie has her kids, and Pitt has his kid. Jolie has a problem with her own flesh and blood, she said so herself. She put that child at risk flying airplanes while pregnant. She was a worn out tired looking pregnant woman. Pitt will be doing his 4 movies, she will be doing her 4 movies. Yes, I can see this is a very loving family. Thank God she has you guys to defend her. I guess you are right, daycare and nannies is much better than an orphanage. They get good clothes when she shows off her wonderful family. Is there something going on with one of the children's legs? Hopfully that is a terrible rumor.

They need our help, and we should be doing more.”

Brad adopted both Maddox and Zahara in May 2006, he is their legal father, whether you like it or not or approve of it or not. He will now begin the process of adopting Pax.

Brad and Angelina are a loving family with four children and more to come.

87. Is the problem here with those who refuse to accept that Brad has legally adopted Maddox and Zahara is because both are nonwhite children, that they are children of color? Because it seems that the loudest screamers refer to Shiloh as Brad's only child in positive terms, believe made up lies that Angelina does not love Shiloh without any proof, and think it would be a good thing for a family to break up with the nonwhite children going with Angelina, and the white child going with Brad. Racism is present and accounted for.

I'm a social worker in NY and very familiar with the processes of foster care and adoption in this state. You're right, it's easier to adopt your foster child than to apply as an adoptive parent, but there's a caveat -- as a foster parent, you can't count on your foster child becoming legally free for adoption. If the birth mother surrenders the child voluntarily or if child is freed by the court on the grounds of neglect or abandonment, as a foster parent you get first preference to adopt him But If the birth parent gets her act together -- and many do -- she can take the child out of foster care and take him back home. It can be devastating for a foster parent to love and care for a child for two or three years, only to have to give him back to the birth parent. I've seen it dozens of times. Foster parents are very special people who are able to love and let go. They have all my respect. I don't know if I could do it myself.
