Baldwin Rivets Audience on "View"

TMZ has confirmed Alec Baldwin pre-taped "The View" today for a Friday airing, and it was an emotional scene.

Someone present recounts that Baldwin "was very heartfelt, apologetic and emotional." We're told the audience applauded multiple times as Baldwin discussed the events surrounding the voice mail.

On the show, Baldwin indicated he is interested in being released from his "30 Rock" contract. Sources tell TMZ, however, that if NBC does not release him he will fulfill his contractual obligations. We don't know how long those obligations run.

"30 Rock" has been renewed for next season.

UPDATE: NBC has issued a statement to TMZ that says "Alec Baldwin remains an important part of '30 Rock.' We look forward to having him continue his role in the show."

46. Did anyone notice that there were no 'pro' postings while he was filming The Screwey View? Does that leave any doubt in your mind that he and his minions were furiously typing away on this forum, making up hundreds names and posts, while they defended him? How sickening is that?! I think that Kim and Ireland should run as far away from him as possible. And no, dear sir, I will never understand how a 'man' could call a child those names. You are a disgrace to your species.

47. Let's not forget the context and history. At least one actress has refused to work with Baldwin. Before the divorce and since, the tabloids have had countless stories about Baldwin and his temper and him losing it with numerous people in assorted situations - from restaurant servers to peers. I can remember one vividly because I found it so astounding. According to the story, he and Kim were in a restaurant and they had Ireland with them. It was on Long Island, I believe. It was daytime. According to the quoted witnesses, suddenly Baldwin began to berate his wife at the top of his lungs for assorted failings and threatened to put her face in her soup. When she tried to leave the restaurant with their daughter, he physically restrained her. She struggled loose, took her daughter and left.

This man is obviously out of control to begin with. If he behaves like that in public, God only knows how he behaves in private. Bassinger does not have to be psychotic or a witch to be reluctant to have her daughter alone with him. And if he talks to his daughter routinely in the same manner as the message left, I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't choose not to talk to him. Soon she will be of an age when she gets input about her circumstances. That will be interesting to watch.

And let there be no doubt in your mind that emotional abuse is just as damaging to a child. I finally accepted that I was emotionally abused as a child. I stoutly denied for years when different counselors told me that I exhibited all the characteristics of child abuse survivors. As my spouse said, when everybody around you keep telling you that you should sit down because you're drunk, sit down because you're drunk.

48. Alec Baldwin has an anger management problem and his relationship with Kim Basinger was filled with mental and physical abuse. This woman is protecting her child from an abuser. Abusers are often enigmatic people and I think in this case people are being blinded by the side they see in public and even though we now have PROOF of his vile behavior towards his CHILD (the countless outbursts and fistfights with others wasn't enough) they are now blaming the victim (s).
Think about it people! If you had an ex that had verbally and physically assaulted you - wouldn't you fight tooth and nail to keep him from hurting your child? If he's yelled at his daughter in the past like this (and he obviously has) no wonder she is "alienated" from him.
He is also a narciscist! To take what happened and try to explain your behavior at all (as their is no excuse) and even worse to BLAME someone else for your own vile actions is just disgusting. Going on the view and trying to get SYMPATHY for being a child abuser just makes me sick!
I liked Alec Baldwin as an actor... but not accepting responsibility for this behavior and continuing to heap on blame to his victims is too much for me!

49. It is my understanding that Kim B and Alec B have court agreed documents where
they both agreed to visitation and phone call times between Dad
and daughter.

It sounded to me on the voice message this HAS NOT
BEEN THE FIRST TIME Ireland did not answer the phone at the
designated time.

This clearly shows Ireland not being responsible to the agreement.

Her mother is responsible for teaching her manners, hospitality, and respect for
the agreement made on Ireland's behalf between all parties.

50. Kim says she hired bodyguards to protect her daugher from the papparazzi............................BUT it was her and her team's delivery of the voice mail message to TMZ that COST IRELAND HER FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

51. I agree with what someone previously posted that this should NEVER have been posted on TMZ or nay other website for that matter. This should've been somehting that only a court heard and dealt with accordingly.

I feel horrible for all of them, there are some SERIOUS issues going on here for people to be treating one another this way. I hope they all get the help that they so desperately need!!

If this is a regular thing for Alec then he deserves severe punishment from the court! If this is a first time thing (with regard to Ireland) then I think he should apoligize and be forgiven. I tend to think he has an explosive temper and simply can't deal with lifes challenges.

Dr. Phil offered to help them privately and I wish they would take him up on their offer. Dr. Phil said on Larry King LIVE that he could help them through this. I hope that all three of them take advantage of someone reaching out or seek help on their own.

In closing, I do think Alec has some anger management issues that need to be solved, as it is in the best interest of the father daughter relationship he should be part of.

Personally, this was a reminder to ME to be cautious and thoughtful of how I come off to my own kids when I am angry with them. I too have said things that I apoligized for later as they were not the best words to solve the problem!

52. I think Alec Baldwin is really talented, and I love 30 Rock, but what he did was inexcusable. I am a divorced father of an eleven-year-old girl myself. (as well as two younger kids) My ex-wife and I do not get along at all, and I know that she tries to poison the children against me. But over the years I have gotten better at controlling my anger at the ex-wife, and I have never said a bad word to the kids about their mother, much less attacked the kids for what their mother may have done. Lots of parents, divorced or not, may have "excuses" for the way they treat their kids, but there is no excuse at all for what amounts to verbal abuse of a child. I can't imagine swearing at my children, calling them names, and completely trashing them the way Baldwin did. I hope he's really sorry, but more importantly I hope his daughter makes it through this ordeal unscathed. And shame on Kim Basinger and her lawyer if they are the ones that made this sad private story so very, very public.

53. He's only sorry he got caught. Remember he's an ACTOR.

54. Baldwin needs to leave this country as he promised over 6 years ago if Bush was elected. AND -- he needs to take fat-ass, big mouth Rosie with him. GOOD RIDDANCE to both of them.

55. Does 30 Rock want him to leave? Or does he want to leave 30 ROck?

Do you think Tina Fey wants him gone?

I doubt it... I mean Lorne Micheals creates f'd up people for a living...and the show is doing well... If he quits he is screwing Tina and the gang..just to look like he is a dad? Maybe Tina will move the show to LA and just shoot exteriors in NY...wow...I WANNA know what's happening in those productions meetings....

56. Hahahahahahahahaha.....what a hoot! More ratings hype by the distinguished network television producers of The View? The "audience applauded Alec several times" as he emotionally aired his family/personal business on national television....I guess so with gifts/free stuff under their seats and the "applause" sign flashing? I believe the Alec/Kim/Ireland FIASCO is for FREE PUBLICITY and the kid may be in on the scam. Hey guys, call Jerry Springer or Judge Judy next...they've got a great audiences too. As for The View on Friday....wanna hear a funny noise? CLICK! Or better still......The View will not air this Friday due to preemption by a special press conference held by Santa Claus to defend his worldwide use of "Ho-ho-ho". It is our understanding that Mr. Claus pre-taped the press conference and was interrupted several times by cheering/applauding elves and reindeer in attendance.#

57. Oh my. I can see it coming. Anyone who has never dealt with a manipulative abuser (and all abusers are manipulative) is going to fall for his "heartfelt" performance......and conveniently forget that he is an ACTOR.

If he finally signs up for substance abuse treatment and gets anger management help then maybe it is in fact "heartfelt". .....instead of trying to deflect the blame for HIS behaviour onto others. Substance abuse and anger management are the key issues behind this debacle.....not parental alienation. The other women he allegedly abused were not his kids parents! One actress sued him.

Don't let this guy grab the victim role. I have an ex just like this. They are good at what they do.....getting people to see them as genuine caring people who have just "made a mistake" and are being "maligned" or "picked on". When they can't control people they start bullying people either by manipulation OR anger.

Sheeeeesh. Makes me want to puke, really it does.

58. The tape proves that Alec doesn't know a thing about how to handle an unresponsive 11 year old girl. Beyond that, I don't know who did what here. If my parents screamed like that at me every time I didn't feel like talking to them, they would have both gone deaf.

All I know is that a judge (who is privy to everything) cut off Alec's rights to see his kid in what s/he had to know would be a really high-profile, carefully scrutinized case. Sure, courts favor moms in custody. But cutting out the dad completely is not something they do lightly.

I don't know how people can take sides in this very complex case based on one taped conversation, one-sided interviews and a whole bunch rumor and speculation. It seems like most of you are just projecting your own experiences with bad marriages, which may or may not have anything to do with the situation here.

Just let the rage go, and move on....

59. Once again...many here don't know what it is like to go through a situation like this. He cannot stop KB. Neither will the court. He has tried for years and with massive legal bills - millions. Many Dads give up since it is so biased and no one will help and it hurts so much. He hasn't.

You have to experience it to understand.

60. Personal issues aside - Alec Baldwin is an outstanding actor and his portrayal of Jack Donaghy is excellent - I'm not sure why he wants to be released, but if this is to head off NBC possibly axing him, I think Tracy Morgan would be the logical first to go - since he has his second DUI - I know people are saying they won't watch 30 Rock anymore because of Alec's rant, but if that is true, Tracy should have brought the first wave of ire to the show - Let's weigh, driving a vehicle multiple times impaired with the possibility of causing bodily harm or yelling (albeit very wrong and vile) terrible things at your daughter - Hollywood is filled with people with various problems and that is what the law, counseling and rehab is for - Tracy is going to court and Alex apparently is heading back too - don't watch, but the next movie, or tv show you watch, you better do a background check on all the characters and make sure they adhere to all your moral standards or you better cross them off too......
