Smart Alec? Baldwin Does "The View"

151. Has anyone thought that perhaps this is just an indication of Alec's NORMAL behaviour, and there was just no other way to make it end than to publicly humiliate him? As for "hurting" his daughter, i am sure this is not the FIRST time she's been berated like that.... and kudos to the judge for not allowing contact !! He's been known for his temper and outbursts and "dont you know who i am" attitude... it's time he got called on the carpet.... as for appearing on the VIEW,.... argh... it's sure to be a bleeding heart liberal hug fest... blech!

152. Seems to me that Ms Basiner is the one at fault here. If Alec has scheduled phone visits than it's the mother's responsability to see that the child accepts the call. If he were scheduled to pick her up for a physical visit it would be the mother's place to have her ready on time. No matter what the cause of the divorce both parents should have the right to develope their own relationship with their child. The parent who has physical custody should see that the child respects the rights of the noncusdodial parent. Ms Basinger has obviously passed her disrespect for Alec on to the child. Any parent who does this to their child should not be given custody. The child should be taught to respect both parents. I don't blame Alec for losing his temper in frustration. Although I thinks his remarks should have been addressed to Kim and not his daughter. Alec's daughter's behavior has obviously hurt him deeply. In the long fun she will be the one to suffer when she realizes tnat she has missed the opportunity to develop a relationship with her father. Shame in Kim Basinger for allowing this to happen.

155. I listened to a frustrated father who was trying to make contact with a self-absorbed daughter probably manipulated by her mother. How sad that he has been made to look worthless in her eyes. How typical of Kim to make a private matter very public. I can only imagine what Rosie will have to say to him. I'm sorry Alec had to get so nasty, but who set up the time for these phone sessions anyway. I hope he did fly out to see her as he stated.

I for one will not miss Rosie. Her ravings have gone on long enough. I for one feel she uses anyone and anything to vent her anger. Just name someone to pick on--she'll do. If you don't agree with her you are in her line of fire.

156. how crul of this ex-wife to have made a father have ,"phone visits,". That is abusive to the father and his child. That child was being used by the deadbeat abusive ex-wife as a weapon puppet against the father. There are too many deadbeat abusive ex-wives in America abuseing the good and loving father and his child this way.

159. Great that Alec Baldwin is going to do a segment on the View. There are 2 sides to every story. Everyday there are child custody cases going on, and and everyday there is a parent trying to alienate the child from their parent. Interesting though, the child who is pre-teen has caught on to the act, and is the manipulator in this whole thing, and is playing the poor me attitude, so they can get something from one or the other parent. Children these days are vicious and need to be put in their place. Teenagers these days have no respect for their parents and think that divorce is a big game. I see it everyday being that I work in the legal field.

161. Those who say if he were a Republian, Rosie would be outraged are right on the money. She's for all children, except this one. His ego and temper are out of control. He states in the message, Ireland would not treat her mother that way. I wonder why that is. Even parents have to EARN respect. Even at her age, I would never have tolerated anyone speaking to me in that manner. I do not blame her for turning off her phone. She's protecting herself from his vitriolic verbal and mental abuse. Would you want to talk to Daddy Dearest? One false move, look out.

162. Alec Baldwin is used to having his ass kissed by his adoring (idiot) fans. What he needs is someone his own size to kick his ass. He's nothing but a spoiled Hollywood fat ass, much like Rosie. He definitely married up, and now he can't get over someone telling him to take a hike. He's a wuss.

163. Anyone with access to the tape could have it. I think the tape was at her lawyer's office. Kim says she did not release the tapes.

Some people want to assume Kim is causing all the problems. She says she wants to let Alec back into her daughter's life but won't until he resolves his rage issues. A lot of people have trouble with rage. The View would do better to invite Alec on a show about rage issues not parental alienation.

164. In my opinion and experience. Well seeing that I myself have been caught up in this venomous web we call "THE SYSTEM". I really wonder if anyone cares for the children who are ultimately the pawns between a corupt and biased court system and the alienated parent. Everywhere u look someone is being the blame for only being a parent to the children. The United States Supreme Court ruled that parental rearing is the oldest fundamental right and under the United states Constitution amendment 14 clearly states: (1868) Section 1 Amendment XIV All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. ( Due process? huh? U kidding me? Hearsay is the new due process!!) So is what their doing illegal? Maybe the preditors who are in violation should be held accountable for their actions like the rest of us who violate what makes them any different?For all of u egotistic individuals out their who thrive on shadowing out the other parent (in which we wont say which sex this is because i bet u all know) should really consider the dangerous consequences of such behavior. Anyone really looked into the suicide rate of children who are left holding the pieces of once a happy family( protection from abuse) anyone really concerned for how many children wind up on drugs? How about how many teen pregnancies? Youth detention facilities? Anyone wonder about " i dont understand why my child is so angry and acts out the way they do?

I am sure and am not saying that abuse never occurs, however, their needs to be a FINE LINE to this epidemic.

Anyone ever wonder what we even have the Constitution for when elected officials are Not following its demands?

The bottom line is who is profiting with legal fees superseeding a persons wages and lengthy court sessions not to mention counceling on top of that.

What ever happened to "NOBILITY AND HONOR"

I think Mr. Baldwin, should ignore frustration tords his daughter, and redirect his frustration tords the source of this hainious behavior. I also think Mr.Baldwin should continue to stand his ground seeing that the distance of the father and daughter relationship could be in danger and potentially devistating in years to come.

If the system followed the demands of the Constitution then many othe parents wouldnt be in this rediculous situation.

The system should be overhauled and child rearing understood as a RIGHT, NOT looked at as a privilage. People were not talking about automobiles here, instead the children are defenseless and rely on the parents working together as a team. The system also should induce severe consequences for those who willfully interfere and potentially sever the relationship of a parent and child by the other parent.

I have to say that Mr. Baldwin is definitely taking a stand and being her father. Good job :)

165. I am sure that the daughter is no angle.Do you really think that a father would say things like that to a daughter for no reason.Some people should look at thier own lives before judging others
Also I am really going to miss Rosie on the VIEW it will never be the same or as good as it was this pass season.
