Did Rosie Want to Boot Babwa?

Rosie O'Donnell's exit from "The View" had nothing to do with contract terms and everything to do with Rosie wanting to kick Barbara Walters off the show Babwa created, according to reports this morning.

Yesterday, Rosie claimed that her departure was the result of a contract dispute, but the New York Post reports that what Ro really wanted was to take over the show by herself. What's more, the Post's source says that ABC could've kept her by buying out Babwa's share of the show, but decided they had had enough of the outspoken O'Donnell.

Rosie's rep says that the report is "categorically false." Meanwhile, buzz about what Ro will do next is just that -- buzz -- and her rep says she's "going to sit back" and decide.

Alec – Hate-Spew Was Meant for Kim, Not Kid

Alec Baldwin claims that the ugly venom in his voice mail message to daughter Ireland that TMZ posted exclusively last week was really directed at Ireland's mom Kim Basinger, not at the 11-year-old herself. "I took [my anger] out on the wrong person," said Baldwin yesterday during his taped appearance on "The View," slated for broadcast Friday morning, according to a transcript obtained by the AP.

Baldwin told Rosie & Co. that "there's nothing wrong with being frustrated or angry," but when asked by Barbara whether he meant it for his ex-wife Basinger and not for Ireland, he replied, "I think that goes without saying." Still, he wouldn't say whether he had actually spoken to Ireland since the voice mail was made public.

Did Prince Diss Paris in Public?

Prince challenged Paris to a sing-off at his Las Vegas show -- and Paris Hilton couldn't step up, if a report in Us is to be believed. The hotel heiress was in the audience at Prince's Club 3121 show at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and Prince invited her onstage. When, according to Us, she skipped up to take her place in the spotlight, Prince handed her a mic and called out to the crowd, "Let's see if she can really sing," a challenge that so dismayed Paris that she ended up ditching the stage and leaving just two songs later. Paris' rep denies the incident.

Party Favors: Even When Mandy Moore's Bad, She's Still Good ... Could Jacko Come to Big Apple? ... Spidey Needs Rocking Chair

Mandy Moore tells Parade magazine in an exclusive interview that she's been very, very bad: Her abuse of her celebrity, she admits, includes cutting to the front of the line at roller coasters. Uh, OK, Mandy, you naughty girl. ... Talk about a circus: Michael Jackson might be coming to Manhattan for a June 18 trial date of a case in which a New Jersey financial firm is claiming they were stiffed for $48 million. Federal marshals, say Rush & Molloy, have been alerted, but it's unclear whether he'll actually turn up. ... Spider-Man might be capable of flying through the concrete canyons of the big city, but his real-life alter-ego Tobey Maguire needs a rocking chair, according to Page Six. He travels with an entourage of 10, a personal chef, and a rocking chair wherever he's at.

61. #38, Thanks for the low down on what really happend, parisite is such a gutless wonder, and a no talent loser to boot, and this only proves it. Prince was probably just trying to prove once and for all THAT PARISITE CAN"T SING! and he certainly proved that point, why else would a world class entertainer bother with the likes of her.
I don't believe for a second that that message was directed at Kim, Alec is just tryng to cover his ass, he should sort out this crap with Kim and leave the girl out of it, I feel so sorry for that poor kid, like so many others she didn't ask for any of this.

62. Get a clue people! ABC absolutely wanted Rosie back because she increased viewership considerably. ABC is a business first and foremost and if Rosie's comments and controversy brought more viewers (specifically younger viewers), ABC was all for it. And if you think Rosie won't be back on the air soon, with her own show, and a lot more money than she was asking from ABC, you're a fool. And don't be surprised if her new show premiers during the same time slot as The View. The new network isn't going to miss an opportunity to steal all those Rosie fans away from The View - most of which probably won't watch the show without Rosie.

Your "schadenfreude" is completely misplaced. Rosie is the ultimate winner here because she attracts exactly what networks (i.e. advertisers) want - younger viewers. "The View" will definitely be hurt and will most likely just move back to the "geezer" demographic - the last thing advertisers want.

63. Rosie, Don't let the door hit your ample ass on the way out. You'd probably break it!

64. ROSIE FAN OR NOT, ONE THING IS UN-DENIABLEY AND CRYSTAL CLEAR::::

If ABC wanted Rosie to stay on they would have honored ANY thing she wanted. If she wanted only a year's contract, they would hve said, "hey we want he so bad, we'll take what what we can get -- at least she's still here."

all he other hype dont amount to a hill of beans. IT IS WHAT IT IS. IN PLAIN LANGUAGE THEIR ACTIONS SAY, "Rosie, Your're Fired."

65. Only watched the view once that was enough.rosie was nothing but a hit man for george soros .(notice how the looney left in having a fit over rosied demise)? The view had 3 libs and one quiet little conservative.you can bet rosies replacement will be another far left lib.
Sad that rosie and joy know about as much about politics as snoop dog knows about nuclear physics. the entire show needs to be canned and replaced with reruns of gilligans island or the munsters or anything would be an improvement

66. Thank goodness that Rosie is leaving the View! She is disgusting and so disrespectful to other people. I hope she goes for help! She sure needs it. Donald Trump told the truth when he said that she is disgusting and that she got fired! She should of been fired a long time ago. Ugh! I hope she isn't this disgusting with her kids. Social Services should be knocking at her door.

Alec Baldwin, grow up and get some help! You took it out on your little 11 year old kid. I'm sure this wasn't the first time you did this. Ireland is probably afraid of you. You probably have yelled, and bullied her and Kim all along. You just got caught now! Stop blaming Kim and everyone around you. You should admit that you have a short fuse, rotten temper and get help. Maybe then you can have a relationship with your child, if it's not too late.

67. Lynette, I think you have an excellent point. "The View" has run it's course. There are just too many talk shows and the're all the same after a while. The View has become very tiresome and is just an infomercial for whatever "latest" book, movie, or CD their guests are promoting.

There is too much cross talk and too many topics and Rosie caused the demise of Barbara's reputation as well as her show.

The ratings were up just to see what outlandish thing she would say or do next. The audience was comprised of some very overweight lesbians since they stupidly hired Rosie who were there just to get their grubby hands on whatever items were being given away. And that stupid confetti - tacky, tacky, tacky. Another of Rosie's infantile demands that they allowed her to get away with.

ABC probably offered her a three year contract at a salary of three dollars per year and she is twisting it as usual to make it look like she wasn't fired!

68.
# 57.......... #58.............#60

Yea.........

Ding Dong......."The Witch is Dead" (wow, I like that, it has a nice 'Ring' to it')

Thank God (and I do mean that in a very respectifull manner)

And.....................Yes.........

If ABC wanted to keep her, they would have given her a "One Year Contract".

No Problem (if that is what they wanted to do)

One day, she arrogantly said something, using the term "MY Wife", obviously referring to her friend.

Any Network that would approve of something like that does not qualify for my "View Ship".

I was never a "Viewer" of "The View"...Anyway. But for a supposively "Female" to refer to the same sex as "My Wife", that is really "SICK" and not to mention no moral values.

Where are ABC's Moral Values??????????

And that is not Freedom of Speech.

It is a "Privilege" for her to be on the "Air", not a "Right" and as such she has a responsibility to the "Public". And if the "Public" does not like it,she is gone, just like her buddy,Don Imus.

Also..............
If you did not know better, you would have thought that it was Rosie's "Show", even when Barbara was there, "Rosie was Still in Charge"

And talkin' about "Opinionated". It was her Way or the Highway.

Thank goodness, ABC chose to direct her to the "Highway"

And any broadcast in their right mind would not pick her up.

69. Thanks to Rosie, "The View" was competing with Jerry Springer for Ratings.

I am sure that all of the other 'Ladies' could not stand Rosie and that they talked about her behind her back. And all of them were probably very instrumental in getting her 'Fired'.

Although Rosie did bring it on herself..............

Then there is..........
Joy, who normally dominates Elizabeth, when Joy has an opionion about something. But when Rosie has an opinion, Joy shuts her mouth.

70. None of us have the right to disrespect other people, especially when we disagree. Rosie goes beyond disrepsect as she clearly hates people she disagrees with and masks her hatred with claims to free speach.

So why do we celebrate her bad behavior as free speach when she is guilty of hate crimes?

Posted at 7:24PM on Apr 27th 2007 by Jonathan

71. Rosie paid extras to fill the audience and applaud her.
The show was last in ratings and advertisers bailed.
So it dumped Rosie.
Lies, lies and more lies.
A trashy show - trashy producers - three trashy hosts.

72.
Busted!!!
Good PR spin on his rant to the daughter.
People seem to have forgotten that his wife stated that he exhibited
the same nasty behavior IN the marriage.
Don't blame it on the wife. It's not her fault that he's chooses to be a loud mouth bully.

He has to take responsibility for his anger issues all by himself.

73. Alec is not only an abuser OF WOMEN, but a liar. His tantrums are well documented and Rosie and Barbara are accessories to his abuse. And by the way, who is trying to alienate who from whom??????? Alec, you are your own worst enemy, you have no one to look at but yourself, you are doing a fine job of alienating your daughter from yourself, you need no one's help.

74. uh, jones? trumps show is over for the season.
as for the rest of your comments..... huh? and what's your thing with the apostrophies?

75. Rosie was a good addition to this show! It's called to view for a reason! Whether you agree with everything said is not the point. Since Rosie joined the show women are discussing what's going on in the world again! Right or wrong, at least she has the guts to speak her mind and say what she believes in, regardless if 100 % of the people watching understand it. At least she is making an attempt to analyze the news, and who is shaping the world we live in, and it's okay to have an opinion in America! That is what makes this show great! It's not one person, it's the combination, Liberal and Conservative, Democrat and Republican, old and young, sassy and sweet! Barbara Walters is a genius, and the show will survive!
