WTF?! Eve Gets Jailhouse Visit from ... Sean Penn??

Hard time couldn't have been that bad for just-busted rapper Eve -- TMZ has learned that she got an early morning celebrity visit from Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn! Talk about special treatment!

Penn arrived shortly after the rapper-actress was booked by police on suspicion on driving under the influence. As we first reported this morning, Eve was arrested after crashing her Maserati into a center divider on Hollywood Blvd. We spotted Penn leaving in a taxi close to 4:00 AM.

Police sources tell TMZ, "He came to see how Eve was doing." No word yet if Sean and Eve had been out together before her car accident.

31. This is about drinking and driving. Period. Not race or anything else. Celebrities and everyone else needs to be more responsible. I hope it won't take a shocking death for people to wake up.

32. Why does California do catch and release with anyone that has double the legal limit? Can't they lock up the drunks at least until the sober up?

33. Why is everyone so surprise she is a an actress he is an actor ; if she was JUST a rapper then maybe some eyes would raise ; but he prob saw her in something and enjoy her work or they might have cross paths before ... dont see the big deal.

36. Robin is from oil money... she will be fine with or without him. As to why he would visit Eve? Perhaps it was just a friend trying to help a friend. If the friendship was a secret, he could have sent an agent or someone else that works for him in his place.

37. Sean and Eve hmmmm, you know Sean does have jungle fever, he dated Naomi Campbell or should I say slept with Naomi not to long ago. But then again so has every other hollywood leading man. Robin has been cheated on many many times by Sean, why does she put up with it.(shakes head)
