Rapper Eve Busted for DUI after Maserati Mash-Up

TMZ has learned that rapperista/actress Eve was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she crashed her gold Maserati on Hollywood Boulevard.

Eve (real name: Eve Jeffers) was driving in Hollywood around 2:45 AM Thursday when she hit the center divider, totaling the front of her car. TMZ was on the scene, and observed that after cops arrived, they placed her in handcuffs, and (according to our staffers) she was "visibly upset" as they led her into a squad car. We've learned that there were two people in the car with Eve at the time.

The multiplatinum-selling Grammy winner starred with Vin Diesel in "XXX" and had her own self-titled sitcom on the UPN.

Eve LeavesTMZ is standing by at the Hollywood division, Los Angeles Police Department.

UPDATE: TMZ has confirmed that Eve has just posted $30,000 bail and was released from Los Angeles County Jail. The rapper covered her face, as she was picked by yet another Maserati.

I mean really who does not know not to drink and drive? and why don't these damn moron's call a cab or hire someone to drive their drunk ass home. when are we going to start making an example out of celebrities who break the law just for the hell of it. the average Jo can't get away with this mess. how many of them have committed this same offence in the last 2 years, I'm begining to think this is on purpose. is this how you keep in the media let's drink, drive drunk and endanger others on the road? is this the new publicity stunt by desperate celebs? lock their worthless ass up. enough already!!

41. Well, it just kills me that Celebrities do this type of stuff when they know there being watched. I wonder do they ever think of the consequence of there actions? I'm a die hard fan of EvE but I would never drive drunk and it kills me because just like I'm a fan so are kids. Eve- Watch yourself Girl.

44. why does everything have to turn into a race issue??? i'm a black woman but clearly this has nothing to do with race. she got drunk, she drove, she crashed and she should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. and so should paris, nicole, or any average joe without status or money. people make race too much of an issue in this country. this is the most divided country in the world. we have the most freedoms, power, and influence over every other nation but we can't seem to keep unite as one. racism is stupid, its petty, its immature...and its 2007. for the one post that said "go back to africa"...news flash: we didnt swim over here because we wanted to! and if thats the case, everybody here except native americans should be packing their bags right along with me. get a grip already!
