61. It has proved that Tobey Mcguire is the jerk I always said he was. We stumbled across him filming Spiderman in NYC, my daughter who was 12 at the time was so excited but Mcguire was so rude and gave us a dirty look. That was 4 years ago and I have never gone to the movies to see or rented another movie that Mcguire was in. Hope his career goes down hill fast....

62. While I agree that the guy invaded his personal space, I think that Tobey could have handled it much better. Saying "Don't touch me dude" was enough - he didn't have to knock the camera out of the guy's hand. He was acting like a whiney little baby. What a brat. He's in France promoting his film so he should expect that there's going to be a bit more attention from fans etc. than if he's just going to the grocery story at home or something. I've always thought that Tobey Maguire as an action superhero was dumb anyway - he's like an ugly little girl. I enjoy the movies for the special effects and all, but think Spidey should be called Suckey.

63. While the photographer might have been out of line with his actions, let me just say that Tobey M is NOT NOW nor has he EVER been a NICE person.
As a person who works in a Vegas casino frequented by Tobey, in all the dozens of times I have seen him, I've yet to see him treat any of the dealers, cocktail waitresses, or any of the other personnel there with an ounce of decency or respect.
He acts like everyone there should be grateful they're waiting on him and that we are all indebted to him for the honor of his presence.
He never tips, just treats people like crap.
I can only hope that someday he finally gets bitch-slapped and gets treated the way he treats every other person he comes across.

66. I think that were very wrong on Tobey's part to knock an expensive camcorder/camera out of a fan's hand simply because it was in his face for one second. Even if the guy accidentally stepped on his heel or whatever (therefore making him say, "Don't touch me")--that is no excuse for acting out the way he did.

Fans are indeed what keeps this man's career alive. Like one poster said, he knew what he was getting into when he decided to go the route of a Hollywood actor.

68. You might call this guy a "fan", but anyone who shoves a camera at you like a proctologist is a paparazzi, no matter what they call themselves.

It's blatantly obvious to me that Maguire didn't mean to knock the camera out of the paparazzi's hand - he wanted to get it away from his face. This guy is a real weirdo, totally in his personal space. You can here Maguire expressing his apprehension - "Don't touch me, dude..." - and then bam! The 'razzi-freak shoves a camera right up his face! Maguire instinctively slaps it out of the way, but because the 'razzi didn't have a firm hold of it, it fell to the ground. Maguire keeps walking, cause he wants to get away from the freak before he causes an even worse altercation.

And you say "poor razzi'? An 'act of violence'? What a joke. Ugh. The 'razzi oughta be given a proctological exam with his own camera - so as to have a taste of his own medicine. That'd teach 'em.

71. I read all the comments and I think #50 is great. Now, movie stars make millions of dollars
and it is the fans that pay their salaries. And our salaries are very low compared to them. Even if the fan overstepped his boundaries, Toby did not handle it well . Didn't he learn to never cut off the hand that feeds him?

73. If you watch closely you'll see the "fan" (who's probably going to sell that picture) stepped on Toby's foot or kicked his leg. Toby looks down like that's what happened. The "fan" didn't act like a fan, he wasn't smiling or saying: "OH MY GOD, I LOVE YOU, CAN I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH !?! PLEASE, CAN I GET YOUR PICTURE FOR MY SPIDERMAN SCRAPBOOK ?!?"
To me, he looked like me at my job... just get it done, no matter who you step on.
